problems with download manager and carrara 8.5 pro.

For the first time I am not happy with download manager.
I bought Carrara 8.5pro and the S6 shader.
Everything downloaded except for Carrara itself. That download failed.
I got messages form all the rest that it could not find the path.
Second time I could download Carrara and it installed.
2/ I entered my name and before I could enter my serial, it opened in trial mode.
I can't find where I can enter my serial.

My questions to DAZ:
1/ where do I enter mt serial for Carrara 8.5 pro?
2/ seen the problem mentioned above, do I have to re-install all the content etc?
3/ The manual I got with 8.5 is six years old and from Carrara 7?

1- click the white thing in the upper left hand corner to enter serial
2- no if every thing is working
3- look at the info posted above in the forum - there has been some new info

Thanks.
I did manage to enter the serial ,and the content ect was not installed. So I chose to reinstall everything, starting this time with the app first and then the conntent. This worked perfectly.
I must say that Carrara seems to be quite a powerful tool. Lots of things to discover. But at first sight the modeling toolbox seems to be impressive. I have to get used to the 'language' but extrudes, bevels, edgeloops... it seems all to be there.
Pity the manual is a bit dated, but then again: as software evolves, the basics stay the same.
I hope I may ask questions when needed.
Thanks again!
The main differences to what's in the manual and what isn't is fairly minimal. There are changes to the UI for the Poser and DAZ figures, but the modeling rooms seem to be the same as well as the deformers. Some other added features that aren't in the manual are enhancements to some of the animation tools, IES lights and a few other things. If I had to give it an accuracy percentage, I would say it's still around 90% accurate.
Additionally, there are some documented changes listed in this stickied thread (would be nice to see more added):

Dartanbeck also has a compilation of information and tutorials in this stickied thread:

Hope those help you out! Happy rendering!
Thanks. At first sight, Carrara is quite powerful. I do miss a few obvious things in vertex-miodeling, or then again: perhaps I have overlooked them. Things like , for example alt-clicking when adding the last vertex to a newly created polygon so the red line is interrupted but the tool stays selected to start with the next one, and, for example, the W shortcut to automatically weld point that are at the same position so as to create a mesh.
There are workarounds, but these don't add to the flow of the work.
I used C4D 7 long ago, so that's where I got a basic idea on modeling. I won't compare with what that app can do now, but I remember that for many of Carrara's native tools, plugins had to be bought.. All I can say is that seen its Daz madness pricetag, Carrara is just wow. And very intuitive.
Thanks.
