How do you get Classic Cape Animal Skins to actually work?

I am struggling IMMENSELY with this https://www.daz3d.com/classic-cape-animal-skins-textures

Three issues really...

  • First and foremost, i have made the bottom half of the cape transparent in texture shaded view but when ever I go to the NVIDIA IRAY view its still magically appears again as if I did not lower the opacity cutoff. What am I doing wrong here...
  • Second, NONE of my renders actually have fur, its just a cape...what am I doing wrong here?
  • Last, dont even know where to change the inside color of the cape. I got the out side to be white which I want for what I am working on but cant find the inside color in the SURFACES tab.

I am fairly new to DAZ so I am sorry if these questions are obvious, but I have been trying to figure this out for about 3 weeks and im pulling my hair out!

    From the product page:
NOTE: Double-Sided textures require the included Double-sided Cape .duf file. The double-sided cape .duf requires the base product Classic Fur Cape to function correctly.

That would be this product:  https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-classic-fur-cape-for-genesis-8

    It is for Iray renders.

If this is a no-go, there is the 30 day return policy.

Are you doing an actual render, not just in Iray preview mode? By default dForce hair/fur doesn't show in preview to save resources.

I did render. Are there any particular settings that I need turned on?

Also any idea on why it ignores my opacaity cut for the bottom half of the cape?

I have the exact same problems, and I'm not new to DAZ.

I've tried everything to make the lower part of the cape transparent to no effect. I have lots of experience making my own fur products, but rendering this product shows no fur. The base product in the bundle doesn't seem to work correctly.

The base product won't get you started out of the box. It's clearly lacking detailed instructions. I think I might return to product.
