Carrara 6 Pro Serial Number - help ticket rejected [Solved]

Yes, I know this is an old version of Carrara. I bought the first edition of Figures, Characters, Avatars for the purpose of legally buying a copy of this older software for its ability to create 3d text that I could then import and texture in studio 4 pro.

Like the old forums suggested, I submitted a help ticket with my receipt and a request for the serial number, but they deemed the ticket closed without putting the serial number in my account or contacting me in any way.

Does anyone here in the Carrara forums know why this happened or how I can go about legally obtaining a serial number? I know there is a trial version of Carrara 8, but that only lasts a short time and wouldn't suit my purposes. I've looked into other software that would do this, and Carrara seems to have the best options, but I'm not going to spend hundreds of dollars to get the latest version just for 3d text when an older one will do. (And who knows, I may like it so much I would switch from studio down the road. :)

Thanks

    try again, and again
lots of people's support tickets getting closed if you read the forum, new site glitch possibly
meanwhile I think Hexagon does text too and that is still free.

Yes as Wendy said there was a problem with Zendesk tickets, as they (Zendesk that is) were victims of a DDoS attack and many tickets either didn't get through to Daz3D or were closed without being looked at.

So please do either re-open your ticket or submit a new one.

Thanks for the suggestion. I did try that recently and failed miserably, unfortunately. The program kept crashing, and the text I managed to import into studio didn't look like text anymore, and I couldn't find anything beyond a basic tutorial to cover my problems. I'm hoping Carrara will work a bit easier for a newbie when it comes to text. :)

And thanks, both of you, for the suggestion to resubmit. I will do that! I'm glad to hear that there's no widely-known reason that the serial number isn't being given out. :)

I called them and talked to support on the phone and it got added right away. The Hexagon version on the CD isn't the most current build and uses a different serial from the current one.

Also, the missing serials are on an errata page you can download for the book too that the publisher has made available.

The C6 version on the disk doesn't come with some content that came with the paid version of C6. However, you can download a zip of Howie's Snow Scene from Howie Farkes website for free.

Thanks for those fantastic links - I'm thrilled I don't need to wait for my serial number. :)
