Odie Schnitzel's work (Renders and Animations)
Welcome to my Render and Animationthread!
I am working with DAZ Studio already for a few years, and did quite a few renders and also some animations. Some of them I've already shown within the old Forum, but I thought I will create a video with my old work and post here some new renders as well. But before, I guess a good start is perhaps a videoclip I've created in 2012.
"The first move" - shows a little bit my step from still renders to animation work. As it is a early work, the music used in this videoclip is not mine, I did only the animation. In later animations I am also creating the music myself!
"The first move - Special Contest Edition" - was slightly adapted for a contest. So don't worry if the start looks the same...
The videos where hosted formerly on another server and were viewed a few hundred times. And the people somehow liked the special contest Version more, so let's see which Version you'll like more? ;-)
Feedback to any of my work in this thread is appreciated!

I really like how in the first one, there is dramatic pause before she starts moving. Builds nice anticipation! And the special effects are very catchy too- the multiple images and the water ripple spread is a nice touch. Looking forward to seeing more. :)
Thank you, Novica! I am glad you like the effects I build into the Clip!
I have also a very short clip on youtube, for those who havent't seen it when I presented it within the old Forums: It's called Subway arriving and is playing in a distant Future. No Music this time, but still some Soundeffects!

Currently I am using more IClone 6 Pro for my animations, because there it is easier to handle all the moving parts of an animation as you can see in this short clip.
Used Character Creator to create the Women with Outfit, had to adjust the Outfit a little bit, cause there was some poking through, but in CC you can adjust it, which is fine. Rendered in Iclone 6 Pro, with Total Plants 2, added a small Breeze of air and rendered this short clip. I like the moving water & the moving plants, which is not so easy to animate in other Programms.

Finally after 2 months of rendering....in Indigo RT, I am ready with the Indigo Version of my short Clip "A short Walk along the River"!
You can enjoy it here:

Some Technical details: Used 2x I7-870, slightly more than 1050 Frames were calculated, each Frame with about 800s/p, one Frame took about 40 mins to calculate.
The Iclone to Indigo exporter took quite long(about 1 day), and produced more than 25 Gb of Resource Data, but did NOT crash at all during the conversion.
But unfortunatly Indigo has a very nasty Problem, which stopped it working all the time! One day there was no Problem in calculating multiple Frames from the queue. The other day it simply stopped at samples/p 400 oder 500, mostly right at the End of calculating a Frame at 800samples/p. This means that nearly each Frame had to be restarted manually which made it taking up so much time. Several Frames also had to be rendered twice due to this Problem.
