Proper way to Load Reference Images

Hi everyone, hope your all well :)

I was wondering if anyone could guide me on the correct path to loading image planes / reference images correctly.

I have tried using the backdrop to work from an image but find it really frustrating to work with as the image stays in the center of the screen and the image is not correctly sized. I saw, in Hexagon, you set the scene properties to map the image to the grids but cannot find an option like that anywhere in Carrara.
