The chronicles of Cassandra 'Cass' Starwind
This story is about Cassandra 'Cass' Starwind, born 36 years ago on the planet Roon, in the outer rim territories. She was the third child of Colonel Ribick Starwind of the Confederacy of Independent Systems Army stationed on Roon. In early years she joined the youth army group. When she was 16 she was old enough to go to military school and she was stationed in the 21st path finder company two years later when the Empire launched an attack on Roon. The Empire used an insider that betrayed the whole military staff. The traitor, Zoserab Marisel, had been promised that everyone should be free to go, but would be under Empire command, but the Empire executed every officer on Roon, including their families, while Zoserab Marisel was promoted to Colonel in the Imperial Army.
Cassandra learned about her family's tragic fate, but escaped the arms of the empire as she was missing in action after the invasion, when she had been fighting behind the enemy lines. She formed a small resistance group together with a few from her unit, and they hid in the jungles of Roon, making occasional attacks on Imperial garrisons and troops. She lost most of her friends but someway stayed alive, and she swore that she would never stop avenging the death of her family.
After the Imperial occupation of Roon, criminal activities started to grow and Roon became somewhat of a local smuggler’s trading port. Imperial presence was not as visible as on many other planets, but the Stormtroopers were still a constant threat.
For several years she went on, until she was contacted by a member of the rebel alliance and was secretly lifted off the planet Roon and joined a rebel group that did some high risk operations. Back to the present time….

Cassandra had just a week ago returned to a small unnamed moon in the outer rim, which was covered with low growing bush like vegetation. On the planet, deep under the surface, the rebellion had found the remains of an ancient military complex from yet another forgotten war, thousands of years ago. They had build a small research facility with INCOM engineers together with a defector from the Tyrus Engineering Corporation, and they were researching better drives for the X and Y wing fighters and attack vessels.
Around the complex the rebel alliance had built defensive hard points with towers and trenches, to be able to withstand an attack, if it would happen. Cass had arrived here a week ago, with a Duros who is an engineer and former business owner. Cassandra and her special operations team had rescued him from an Imperial prison. The operation had been successful, but several of the team members had been lost, including her commanding officer. She was waiting to get out of here, back to her unit. She was not officially under the command of the base commander, even though he had a higher rank. Military hierarchies was difficult for those not inside the system.
She was sitting in the cantina down at level 3, sipping on a cup of blue milk, when suddenly the alarm sounded, and the lights started to flash red. A captain in the cantina yelled “Battlestations!”, we are under attack.
The captain shouted: -”Everyone on your feet now, on the double, battlestations!”. Cassandra explained as she was not under base command she had to pick up her combat gear, and the captain accepted that but said:- “Next time be ready, you will get a reprimand for this when this is over, I promise!”
Cassandra quickly took up her personal communicator and connected to one of the watchtowers: -”This is Sergeant Starwind, give me a quick situation report”.
A voice was heard from the other end of the link: -”This is Corporal Georyen Anwer reporting, at least ten Imperial landing transports have landed, and the scanners pick up three star destroyers in orbit.”
Cass was thinking, we sacrificed a lot to rescue that man, Nulen Bohm, from an Imperial prison and to bring him here. He is still my responsibility, I must keep him safe, or all those lives were lost for nothing. She took the stairs down towards level 7, where Mr Bohm had his quarters and laboratory. She ran into Lance Corporal Flan Dune on the way down, and convinced him as well that she needed to pick up her gear before she could fight as she was not part of the regular defence force she had no standing order to always carry full gear, and Lance Corporal Dune just replied: - “Ok Sergeant, just hurry up.”
Down at level 7, she found Nulen Bohm sitting on a chair. He said: - “This time they will catch me again, and torture me, why can’t I just die here and now?”
Cass replied: - “Many good friends died rescuing you, if you don’t follow me, they all died for nothing, so hurry up and follow me, you are still my responsibility.”
She thinks quickly and remembered the tunnel out to the first line of defenses, dug from this level by the rebel alliance workers, it might work. They rushed through a dimly lit tunnel for several minutes until they came out at a small foxhole defense point. She tells the two guards she’s on a special mission, they should forgot that they ever saw her, then they start to crawl and move away from the compound. In the distance they see two AT-ATs firing at the inner lines of defenses.
They hid, and saw a platoon of stormtroopers from the special branches, trained to capture underground facilities, running by them.
The move further away, and when Cass look down from a small hill using her macrobinoculars, she sees a few small ships parked, guarded by two Imperial stormtrooper scouts, and also two Imperial ship technicians doing something. Overhead, tie-fighters are strafing the defenses.
Cass asks Nulen: - “Can you fly?” and Nulen replies: -”I'm a Duros, I was born flying.”
Cass replied:- “Ok, I trust you, now trust me. When they are down, run for shuttle 171.”
Cass analyse the situation, and sees a rebel alliance transport taking off far to the west, but is almost instantly shot down by four tie-fighters. OK Cass says, I have a plan. Cass aims carefully and shoot two shots, kills one stormtrooper and hits the other in the hip. One of the technicians takes cover behind a rock and draws his small holdoff blaster while the other technician runs towards one of the transports. Cass fires again at the stormtroopers while Nulen draws his blaster and fires at the first technician, and then Cass shoots the last technician. They both ran towards shuttle 171.
Inside the shuttle were three people, a pilot, a co pilot and a navigator, all dressed in Imperial flight crew attire. When the pilot reached for his holdout blaster, Cass just said between her teeth -”Drop it or you are dead. Now, get out.” The Imperial crew members slowly left the shuttle. Fast enough not to get shot, but slow enough to make Cass angry.
Finally they could fire up the engines, and Cass switched on the com system while Nulen plotted a jump to a safe rendezvous point that Cass has given him. Cass said on the radio: -”This is shuttle 171 taking off with emergency medical evac. I repeat, shuttle 171 with emergency medical evac.”
After a few seconds there was a voice: -”Shuttle 171, proceed to star cruiser Deep Horizon for docking and emergency medical evac.”
Nulen asked Cass: -”Have you flown one of these before?” and Cass said nope, and Nulen replied, neither have I. The shuttle took off, a little shaky, and Cass was really alert, looking for tie-fighters, but they didn’t come. When they had reached orbit, they heard on the comm system: -”Shuttle 171, this is star cruiser Deep Horizon, prepare for tractor bea…”, but Nulen hit the jump button and they jumped into hyperspace.
I'm really enjoying these stories and renders! Thank you for posting them ^_^
Thanks for enjoying them ;)
It's my way to make logs from our games and at the same time get to render fun stuff, and also visualize things that were just words, spoken or heard.
When the stolen Imperial Lambda shuttle was in hyperspeed doing the jump, there was nothing really to do, but to wait. Cass and Nulen talked a little, checked the gear and had a bite of the Imperial Stormtrooper Scout Corps rations, not great, not terrible.
When they came out of hyperspace an hour later, Cass immediately saw that something was wrong. They had came out of hyperspace close to an asteroid field circling a huge red gas giant. There were some kind of activities going on as there was a space station in the asteroid field. But they were still lucky, good they hadn’t ended up in the middle of an Imperial fleet. Cass checked the astrogation computer, yes, she has accidentally mixed up two numbers and they had jumped in a completely different direction than she had planned.
The communications system made a noise...
Transposed numbers...they'll get you every time.
That was a failed Astrogation check but several advantages get you, without the advantages, they might have ended up inside a black hole.. and the story would have been rather short.
On the com system, a voice with a French accent is heard: - “Imperial vessel, welcome to the Bokete Spin, the best casino in this part of the galaxy. My name is Sala Bona, who do we have the honor to entertain this time? And do you travel without an escort?”
The station rotates and a huge sign saying BOKETE SPIN becomes visible. Cass thinks, this is a known gambling station, and there is rebel alliance agent here, her name is Veira Targon and she is working in the casino as cover.
Cass replies: - “This is Cassandra Starwind asking for permission to land.”
Sala Bona replied: - ”Mais oui mademoiselle Sta-wiin, permission granted.”
Cass looked at Nulen and said: - “Ok, let’s see where this is going to take us…” and goes and pick up the uniforms from the former crew of the ship, that she took, but forgot to mention before. Cass is now Lt Commander Starwind and Nulen is Ensign Bohm, then Cass remembers that very few Duros are in the service of the Empire, so she says that Nulen has to stay at the shuttle at all times.
They land in a large landing bay and when Cass disembark she is met by a group of servants, and in the middle is a woman, who introduced herself as Captain Rochelle El’Terlam as she welcomes Cass onboard. How can we be of service? Captain Rochelle asks.
Cass says: - “I am Lt Commander Starwind and I am here on behalf of my superior officer, Rear Admiral Shin-One Pennington. He has heard both good, and bad, about this establishment, and sent me, his personal pilot and aide, to do a discreet investigation of this establishment before he makes his decision whether to visit or not. My visit here is not official, my commanding officer do not wish a visit here to be known as you surely understand, as it might not be favourable to his career if you see what I mean.”
Captain Rochelle replies: - “Welcome, I will personally give you a guided tour. Is there anything you wish? Should we fuel up your transport while you take the tour? Discretion is our guiding star here. ”
Cass agrees to the fuel, thinking these Imperial machines really consume fuel, and fuel is expensive, and she didn’t realise that Captain Rochelle was not really convinced by her little story.
Fist they visited the guest rooms in the hotel section, very spacious, very high standards. The suites where huge with several rooms and all comfort you could ever wish for. Cass saw several security guards, all wearing blue and orange, armed with batons and blaster pistols.
They continued to the casino where there were several tables for Sabac, many roulette tables and row after row with different slot machines. One even had a jackpot where you would get the key to a Kirash Light Starfighter, a superfast small ship, parked down in the landing bay.
Cass commented that her superior officer would really like to win that, while she kept looking for Veira, but she was not seen anywhere in the casino. They continued to the restaurant section, which also was very high standards. The tables were round with comfortable chairs and sofas, all floating in the air, and you could activate a shield to keep all sounds in and out of the cylinder around the tables, which would keep your conversations private. In the center was a huge oval shaped bar, and there were aquariums with live octopuses, lobsters and many other water living animals, all served fresh. On one wall was a huge glass window and behind you could see the chefs preparing your food on huge grills. Cass had to refuse offerings of both food and drinks several times in the restaurant.
Cass is satisfied, and Captain Rochelle said she wanted to show Cass the security center. There were met by the head of security, Mr. Skylar Quillian. Cass follows Mr. Quillian for a tour through the security section and into their special interrogation rooms area, Cass still not suspecting her story and cover was blown.
Outside the room Mr Quillian asked: -”Who are you looking for? Why are you here? We know you are not working for any Admiral!”
Cass decided to tell part of the truth, saying that they fled from an Imperial assault in a stolen Lambda class transport and made a bad jump and ended up here.
Mr. Quillian pulls up his gun and points it at Cass saying: - “Tell me the truth!”, and Cass raises her hand in a protecting gesture and tells him the truth. He then pulls something up from his pocket, and Cass tries to disarm him, ending up with a punch in the face. She sees that he picks up an Imperial model com-link and shouts: - “Rebels in the security area!”
Cass pulls out her knife and attacks Mr. Quillian, who deflects the attack with his gun, but Cass makes him drop the com-link. he shoots but Cass dives behind a table and realizes that gun is a disruptor gun, one shot and you are dead. The weapon is banned by the Imperial law, the Rebel Alliance and the senate. When fired upon a biological target, the victim is disintegrated atom by atom, resulting in a slow, painful death. Cass pulls her blaster pistol and shoots back and hits Mr. Quillian in the chest, and he tries to escape but Cass runs after and shoots him, then she picks up his distruptor gun.
Cass was in a corridor, and hears someone talking about a prisoner. Has the prisoner escaped? What was that? Gunshots? Cass contacted Nulen and asked him to give her the location of a prisoner named Veira Targon, and Nulen replies after a short while, cell 13A, at another floor. Cass asked Nulen to lock people out, but the system refused to do that. Cass then asked if Nulen could start a fire in the restaurant level several floors below, and just seconds after she hears a voice in the speaker system: - “Gas fire in the kitchen on level 4. All personnel! Gas fire in the kitchen on level 4.”
Nulen directed Cass towards the turbolift that would take her to the prison block, but a small MSC maintenance droid is in the way, beeping irritated and when Cass presses the elevator door, a small arm comes out and hit the elevator reset button. Cass tries to get by the droid, but it won’t let her into the elevator at all, hitting her legs and beeping really angry.
Cass got really upset and shouted: -”If you don’t let me enter the elevator, I will put tar in your oil bath”, and the droid let her into the elevator, making sulking beeping sounds in the corner. Cass called Nulen on the her comm and said: - “I have a crazy droid here, speak to it”, but Nulen replied: - “It understands you perfectly, it’s just telling you using the elevators during a fire hazard is dangerous.”
Nulen explained to the droid, spreaking binary, that the fire is not real, and that the droid should guide Cass to cell 13A, and Cass added that she would give it an oil bath without tar. They took the elevator up, and Cass took a few deep breaths in the elevator, combat is causing stress, you need to calm down and stay focused.
Well at the cell block floor, Cass saw two guards outside a cell door, 13A. Cass explained the situation to Nulen, who replied: - “Can’t the droid call them away?” and the droid beeped happy and took off towards the guards, beeping very upset at them and both guards followed the droid around the next corner. Cass rushed to open the door, when she almost got her face smashed in by a fist that stopped just a fraction of an inch from her face.
Cass said: - “Happy to see you too Veira.”, then they heard one guard saying: - “One of us needs to guard the prisoner” and the guard walked around the corner. Cass gave her ordinary blaster pistol to Veira and dashed to the closest corner, the guard was too far away for her disruptor pistol. The guard fired at Veira but missed and Veira rushed to the same corner as Cass and shot the guard on the way. Cass rushed forward telling Veira to cover her, and shot the second guard.
The droid is beeping and Cass tells it to take them to the hangar bay. Cass is once again taking deep breaths in the elevator and aska Veira about the situation. She replies: - “The operation has been compromised. The only person knowing about my position is Tyrik Marnell, an Alliance Officer. We need to get to the Alliance Headquarters, hundreds of agents might have been exposed and are in mortal danger.”
Cass contacts Nulen to prepare the takeoff, and Nulen replies that it is already done, then Cass hears heavy gunfire over the com and Nulen says: - “I got company”.
When the elevator door opens, they see a corridor leading to the hangar deck. Four people are covering and armed, and huge laser blasts came from the hangar, missing them. Cass recognise one of them, Captain Rochelle, and Captain Rochelle looks back and shouts at Cass: -”You!”. Nulen keeps firing but doesn't hit any targets.
Cass rushed forward, taking aim while moving and shoots at Captain Rochelle, and the hit blows her leg off. Veira shoots at Captain Rochelle as well, and kills her. She then shouted to the other three guards, drop your weapons, but they shoot back at her and hit her in the arm, it hurt, bad. Nulen fired the ship tail guns again and the droid beeped very very upset. Cass gor hit in the chest and can barely stand, but the three guards are all taken out by Cass and Veira. Veira then helped Cass to walk and together with the droid all jump into the shuttle and closed the door.
The droid was still beeping very upset, and Nulen translates: -”Stop shooting, you can damage the power generators and the whole station will go down.” Cass took two quick Bacta shots from the Imperial first aid kit in the ship, and said to Nulen. “You do the flying, I man the tail guns”.
They cleared the closing blast doors just before they were too closed. When the ship was just outside the station but still inside the forcefield, Cass blasted at the exact spot the droid had pointed out through the small blast door opening, and with a huge explosion, the whole station went into blackout. Nulen skillfully dodges the asteroids, and they were out is open space again. Nulen hit the hyperdrive into action and they crossed their fingers that they would end up at the correct spot this time, but you never know.
After a few hours they dropped out of hyperspace, and Cass felt at easy. The sight of the ice dwarf planet X-876 was a relief. The ships in the Rebel Alliance cell Hawkins with the flagship Starwarden under the command of Commander Hawkins were clearly visible, and the surrounding support ships and the docking station Alpha-10T.
The comm system sounded almost immediately when the Lambda shuttle came out of hyperspace. Imperial vessel, identify yourself.
Cass picked up the comm: - “This is Sergeant Cassandra Starwind from taskforce Goulo under the late commander Yazek Goulo, returning from mission, sorry for the ride I’m using. May the force be with you.”
The comm replied: -”Shut down your ship and prepare to be boarded.” Two CR-90 corvettes approached the Lambda shuttle. One kept distance while the other came close and began boarding procedures. Cass said to Nulen: - “This is standard procedure, no problem, just relax.” Cass hid the disruptor in a bag onboard the ship, nothing you wanted to be caught carrying, a forbidden weapon is a forbidden weapon.
Shortly after the Corvette had docked with the Lambda shuttle, a squad of Rebel Alliance soldiers entered and escorted Cass, Veira and Nulen onto the corvette, where they were placed in separate small prison rooms waiting for the corvette to dock with the Starwarden. They were then taken to interrogation rooms, and after Cass had waited about an hour, the door opened and a Sullustan in officer uniform entered. He introduced himself as Major Mochefoche, intelligence. He sat down, picked up a thick file, looked at Cass, and said: - “Can you please explain.”
Cass told him what had happened from the rescue of Nulen from the Imperial prison, the Imperial attack of the base on Adross, she remembered the name of the planet even, the escape in the stolen shuttle and the failed hyperspace jump to Bokete Spin.
Major Mochefoche asks some follow up questions, specially about Captain Jake Marshall, the Captain who yelled at Cass in the cantina. He also asked if Cass saw any ships taking off, and how she was not shot down leaving Adross. After a few hours, the Major left and said: "I'll be back".
When Major Mochefoche came back, he had the shoulder bag Cass had hidden the disruptor pistol in with him, and said: - “What about the disruptor? Where did you get that? Do you know that this is a illegal weapon according to article 76 and having such a weapon in your possession will get you courtmarshaled? Do you understand?”
Cass told the Major that she had taken the disruptor from the Imperial agent posing as security officer at the Bokete Spin, and that she technically no longer had the weapon in her possession.
The Major replied: - “Good, let’s keep it that way”, and handed over the bag to Cass, who was quite surprised. The Major said: -”We are finished here, follow me, your attention is requested in the situations room. You should also be informed that Tyrik Marnell was a code name for Captain Jack Marshall, one of many.”
Cass picked up the disruptor pistol from the bag and hid it in an inside pocket. She then tossed the bag in a recycle bin and followed the Major through a maze of hallways and elevators.
They entered the fleets situation room. A group of people were gathered around a large holotable. Among the people Cass saw Admiral Hawkins, commander of the Hawkins fleet cell, and a Twi’lek, Cara DaClan, operations commander, and both Nulen and Veira were there too. When Cass entered, Admiral Hawkins turned to her and said: -”Sergeant Starwind, I thank you for a job well done. Nulen has now transferred all the technical information and drawings he had with him and it will help us a lot in the struggle to improve our engines.”
Then he looked around the table and continued:
-”Now when we are all here, this is the current situation. We suspect that Captain Jack Marshall has been captured by the Empire. We know that Veira’s position at the Bokete Spin had been compromised. Other information that only Captain Marshall had knowledge about has come into the hands of the Empire. We suspect that he is being held by the Imperial 63rd fleet under the command of Fleet Admiral Ryanna Malix. He needs to be rescued, or killed. So far we think he withstands the interrogations as only some, not vital information has fallen into the hands of the Empire, but time is short. The information we have is that it is most probable that he is held on her flagship Dominance. I have ships with brutal firepower that can take out a star destroyer, but Dominance is a dreadnaught, a one of a kind, it’s a very very big ship. Dominance just cannot be destroyed.”
Admiral Hawkins shows an image on one of the wall screens, but Cass just don’t really grasp how huge this ship really is.
Admiral Hawkins continues: -”I now let Commander DaClan explain the details.”
Commander DaClan begins: -”Our mission is to land an Imperial lambda shuttle, gratefully provided by Sergeant Starwind, on the Dominance and infiltrate the ship, and disrupt and destroy it from the inside. Nulen and our tech teams will scramble the transponders on the Lambda shuttle to make it less obvious. This is a suicide mission, do not expect to get out of this alive, but billions of people and thousands of star systems are depending on this operation, and the success of it.”
Commander DaClan takes a short pause, them continues; -”We will have four teams with five individuals in each team. Team one will stay on the shuttle, they are the flight crew. Team two will infiltrate and disrupt the engine room and power source. Team three will infiltrate the bridge and at last Team four, that will infiltrate the prison block.
Nulen is the key to this operation and the way in. He will pose as a prisoner that is to be taken to the prison block at the Dominance. We are looking for volontaires for the teams, but the team leaders are already chosen. team one is lead by Sergeant Geryth Garani, team two is led by Sergeant Janna Jartag, team three is led by Sergeant Darren Reed and team four is led by Sergeant Starwind, who also will be the commanding officer for the whole operation. Each team will have four members, Nulen will be part of team four.”
Veira volunteered for team four, and Nulen suggested M0U5E, called Mouse, the MSC Maintenance Droid that helped Cass at the Bokete Spin. Cass said she needed good slicer with firepower, and the KX-Series Droid named K11TZ was assigned to her as her fourth team member.
A couple of days were set for planning and preparations, and Cass learned, with the help of Nulen and K11TZ, to understand basic binary so she could understand mouse a little better.
In her head, Cass built two possible plans. Plan A: Rescue Captain Marshall, if possible, and plan B, execute him to prevent him from revealing any more secrets to the Empire, a very tough option, but Cass had faith in plan A.
Code words were learned, to report statuses between the teams. Communications was to be cut to a minimum as any message could be intercepted, so only a code word would be used, to signal Failure, In progress or Success of that team’s objective.
They were all issued Imperial uniforms and key cylinders, but credentials might fail, so everyone needs to be prepared to improvise.
Cass has a plan and speaks to Sergeant Garani: -”When we are heading back, we jump to a dead space somewhere, pre decided, as they will probably track the shuttle. There, we have another ship waiting. We board that ship, the set the shuttle off by it self to jump to another complete off chart destination, so if they track the shuttle, the fleet will jump of for weeks after that shuttle.”
They bring the idea up with Commander DaClan, and she decides a CR-90 will be stationed at the rendezvous point. They will jump to the rendezvous point first, with the CR-90, and then go from there, so if they trace the incoming hyperspace flight they will get more evidence that the shuttle really went back the same way it arrived.
Cass also decides that Nulen needs to cuffed with Imperial handlocks, but they should be easy to open with the right twist of the arms, and Nulen and the Techs get busy to fix that.
At the last meeting before D Day, H Hour, Admiral Hawkins shakes Cass’ hand, and promotes her to Lieutenant and says: -”Good luck Lieutenant Starwind. The future of this galaxy depends on the success of this mission.”
D Day H Hour, the CR-90 with the Lambda shuttle docked, jumped to the secret mid space rendezvous point. The jump took about 12 hours. Then the four teams got into the Lambda shuttle and jumped to the last known location of the 63rd Imperial fleet.
When they came out of hyperspace, they saw that they had came to the right spot. In the distance they saw the largest ship they had ever seem, it was huge, incomprehensible huge, and it was not alone. About twenty star destroyers were here too, and swarms of tie fighters were patrolling the space here. They saw a large, quite urbanized planet and Lambda shuttles and drop ships kept going down and up from the planet. They knew that this planet had been revolting against the Empire, and now they were on total blockade. Rumors said that famine, poverty and despair were the three words best describing the situation down there.
Sergeant Garani gave the codes, but the reply was not very promising at all. - “These codes are old, but but still checks out, but you have no landing permission on the Dominance, all prisoners must first be processed on the star destroyer Agonizer”. Cass replied that this was a high priority prisoner and the orders were to transport the prisoner to the Dominance, but the reply was one again that all prisoners has to be processed at the Agonizer, that is the protocol, follow protocol.
They were escorted by three tie fighters on their way to the Agonizer. Cass held a quick situation meeting. In military school she was taught that every good plan will die at first contact with the enemy, they needed to come up with an alternative plan, quickly.
The plan Cass came up with was to take the prisoner, Nulen, to the prison processing and there let K11TZ hack the system so the prisoner is processed and ready to be transported to the Dominance. The operation would be carried out by team three and four. When they arrived at Agonizer, they were met by a group of Naval Soldiers from the Prison processing unit. Cass asked for directions to the prison blocks, but the Sergeant commanding the naval soldier unit insists to follow the group on the way to the prisoner processing.
hahah These are great! When I saw this one I heard THIS in my head:
Nice work! :D
@DivaMakeup Thanks Diva!
Happy you like it! And yes - those blaster sounds echoed in my head too.
When they arrived to the prisoner processing blocks, the Sergeant of the naval unit asked Cass: -”Where did you pick up this prisoner?”, and Cass replied: - “That information is released on a need to know basis, and believe me, you don’t need to know.”
The Sergeant was not satisfied with the reply and continued: -”I need that information, it’s by the protocol. I need to process this prisoner before it can be transferred anywhere else and you know that.”
While Cass and the Sergeant were talking, K11TZ inserted his data connector into a data port and hacked the prisoner system and the prisoner Nulen was now suddenly already processed and requested for immediate transportation to the Dominance.
Cass answered the Sergeant while K11TZ was slicing the system: -”Sergeant, this information might be above your rank, but this prisoner was picked up at a station called The Bokete Spin.”
The Sergeant was now very confused, suddenly his datapad told him that the prisoner had been processed and was now ready to be transferred to Dominance. He became more suspicious. Meanwhile, most of the other in the Naval soldier squad has left them and it were only the Sergeant and one guard left with Cass’ group. Cass gave the secret signal and the members of team three quickly and silently took out the Sergeant and the guard. Now Sergeant Reed, approached Cass and said:
-”What a mess, how are we going to get out of this now? The guards will be missed, and found, and we were the last group here. Even if we let out the other prisoners this will still be a huge problem.”
Cass realized that her short temper and military thinking had brought them into this little problem, but she said to K11TZ: - ”Add another prisoner transport arriving some minutes after us, with two Gomorrans, known smugglers with a history of violence. That might make them on a ghost chase for a while giving us the time we need, and let all the other prisoners out when we are on the way to our shuttle again.”
Mouse said that it would take care of the prison opening from a data port close to the docks as K11TZ has giving it the codes to do it. He said that using his beeps and Nulen quickly and in a low voice translated as it for Cass.
K11TZ tried to slice the system and add the new transport with the two Gomorrans, and the group decides to move back to the hangar. They suddenly saw that the fleet has gone up one alert level. Cass finds a sergeant and asks why the alert level has gone up, and learns that the fleet about to jump, an unscheduled jump, and no one can leave the ship until the jump is done. They should stay in the shuttle until the jump is done. Cass realises that this will be a problem, so she tells MOU5E to set the timer for the prison opening to just after the jump has begun.
The jump is very short, just three minutes, and when the jump is done, Cass sees that an alarm is lit for the prison block. They see stormtroopers rushing across the hangar bay. Cass makes a request for permission to take off and fly over to Dominance with the VIP prisoner, but the request is denied by the flight deck officer, and she is told she needs to contact the bridge.
Cass contacts the bridge, and is connected to First Lieutenant Galios Sullisar, head of security. He replies: -”This ship is in lockdown, no one leaves, no one enters. Is that so damn hard to understand?”.
Cass replies: -”This prisoner is a VIP prisoner and is as important as all the other prisoners together. If this prisoner cannot be protected, this could be a catastrophe.”
Cass decides to go to the Bridge together with Veira and Nulen to prove that they need to leave the ship, but the flight deck officer says no, won’t open the ports from the hangar i tio the ship, so Cass has to back off again and return to the shuttle.
The K11TZ says: -”Why don’t we just take out the flight deck officer?”. MOU5E moves out in the hangar area and takes control over a door, and start to to open and close it and turns on and off the alarm lights. Team One under the command of Sergeant Geryth Garani is designated to attack the flight deck officer’s elevated control office. They move on quickly and silent, but the flight deck officer is very alert and commands his squad of stormtroopers to take defensive positions. Daska Wyrner is killed but team one takes control over the hangars flight control. Nulen now says: -”We have to leave now, this is chance we will get, we have to leave team one here, or we will fail the mission.”
For a few seconds, Cass tried to run all possible options in her head, but Nulen was right, as always. Cass used hand signals to signal to team one that had a lookout that could see the shuttle, and signed that they will leave, good luck, may the force be with you. Left in the hangar were Sergeant Geryth Garani, Torrelli Corra and Zhaf Ving, heroes of the rebellion, Cass just hoped they do not die for nothing, the mission really had to succeed. If they can hold out long enough, giving the prison uprising what it needs to get an extra edge, Agonizer might be out of commission for a longer period of time, keeping the empire busy with it.
Nulen quickly took the shuttle out through the hangar force field and Cass contacted Dominance about the vip prisoner and the current prisoner uprising on the Agonizer. Dominance replied that they understood the situation and they were granted a permission to land in hangar 373 on Dominance. The flight through Empire controlled space was as scary as last time. And dominance was really big, a mind boggling huge ship.
