Can Carrara work with Marmoset Toolbag 2?
While keenly following the running thread on Octane Render especially Sci-Fi Funk's progress experimenting with Octane, I stumbled upon http://www.marmoset.co/toolbag and was quite amazed at the quality of the real time rendering on offer, I was further amazed at the price. Unfortunately it can only make turn-table animations at the moment, the developers promise to focus more on the animation side of things, but it will take time. Here's a forum where Toolbag 2 is being discussed: http://www.polycount.com/forum/showthread.php?t=128766
I jumped on the demo and loaded up a V4 character I had via OBJ, all clothing and textures got stripped instantly (haven't tried baking the textures yet....will do, right after I figure out how!) but the Toolbag materials are awesome to use, I textured her in mud and tried for a turntable animation, all in record time with an intuitive interface and all that.......which is quite exciting for someone looking for quick solutions for turning out animation. I'm wondering if Toolbag2 can be tricked into rendering out sequenced objs from Carrara will keep exploring.
Just when you think you've seen it all with Octane, something just as interesting turns up round the bend!
