Subtle Breathing

I've been trying to get a realistic breathing (chest and shoulders moving up and down) without realistic effect. What's the best way to achieve subtle to rapid heart beating on a character animation?

The AniMate Alive sets for V4 or M4 or Genesis. You might need to adjust the speed but they have the Breathing and Deep breathing in them. They were some of my first buys just for that reason.

EDIT to add: Not all that subtle so would need adjusting for your use.

There used to be a product called LIFE 3, a plugin for DAZ Studio 3, and it would generate animation sequences for repetitive movement morphs like breathing, blinking, twitches and such. Or even hair fluttering in the wind. Probably wasn't upgraded to DS4, I don't see it in the store now.

I'm pretty sure the Morphs++ for M4 and V4 include an "inhale" morph. I'm not on that machine right now, but maybe somebody can check.

If you use Carrara, you can create a morph target for the heart, but you do not say in which program you work…

Thank you all for the great tips! I didn't think about making a morph in Carrara... I'll try that, as well as the M4 V4 morphs. I haven't had much luck with AniMate packs yet, but I'll keep trying.

It's too bad the plugin Life 3 isn't updated. That look exactly like the kind of tool I'm needing. Hopefully someone will come along and program another like it.

I confirmed that the "inhale" morph is part of the V4 Morphs++, PBMInhale (partial body morph). It looks pretty good, the slider goes from -1.0 to 2.0. As expected, not all the conforming clothes support it, e.g. the V4 Flyer Jacket. But the V4 Bodysuit does, and its listed in the "What's Included And Features" for that product.

Yes the Problem with the V4/M4's Morph++ Inhale is the fact that not enough clothing has it injected. In the Past I was able to fix that issue using CrossDresser 3 and the needed packages for the figures. That of course is a expensive method to solve the issue. There is I'm sure other tools I never looked into that could do the same at a lower cost.

I'm not familiar with Crossdresser, the website looks interesting.

Does Fenric's "Posing Pack 3" have any application here, the "Unlock Figure" feature? I have it, but haven't used it much yet. See the third paragraph and the last image in the description below:

Its not clear to me what that feature does.

Hmm... I do not think so. I think that enables Morphs already in the item that Carrara was not able to read the format of. But read the Dox it just might do it.
Look for things along this line that will transfer morphs in today's programs. I looked but not sure which would be the best for your use. This is just a example of what it needs to do http://www.daz3d.com/plugins-utilities/morph-magic

I think you're probably right about Fenric's, I'll get around to it someday.

The "Morph Magic" sounds like it *was* intended to do what we're discussing, but the support link doesn't work, so I'm guessing its dead.

In my usual "path of least resistance" approach, I'll probably let a shirtless M4 do the heavy breathing, or maybe V4 with a bikini morphed from the bodysuit. My audience is probably not receptive to a topless V4. :bug:

I know less about animating than most if not all in this forum but I really enjoy playing with what I can do the easy ways. 8-/
