For example: I was actually wondering if there is an 'Eyebrow-Pack' available, somewhere?

Interesting art. It reminds me of the contemporary art at the local art museum. Sorry but I can't help you with the eyebrows. maybe someone else knows if an Eyebrow pack is available.

Saw the picture somewhere, this is a 99% copy of that. well ... 80-90% ... heh ...
Dunno if the original picture was photoshop or make-up, think make-up.

As far as I know the only Mesh Eyebrows are the Fantasy set for the Dark Elf set. And I'm pretty sure those are not what your after here. I have read that a new set of Fiber Mesh hair is in the works in a PA's commercial thread, but I think it is geared at the guys, breads and body hair I think. And I do not know if eyebrows are going to be part of it or not. I do like the Idea of a Morphing Fiber Mesh set of Eyebrows for both figures though. I would use that myself.

    It's 'one of those' still-missing-details, I'd say.
I posted a request in the forum, we'll see .....

I did some some time ago in MAX, kind of manually: no fun task .... hence the request.

This figure and most of my library-material is based on V4/ M4, but I'll be sure to sniff this one out, cheers.

As you are going into 3DS Max you could always add a fur modifier.

sja ... I know .. but ...... then I'd have to render it separately: I'm using Mental Ray as renderer, and not really or really not compatible with Fur, or SSS materials ....
As far as I know there's no work-around?

Mental Ray does both Fur and SSS materials. There is even an Fast Skin SSS preset.

Sure MR can provide SSS materials, that was not what I'm getting at.

Just saying that the combination of MR, SSS and FUR is not ideal, and to my best knowledge its better to render the fur with Scanline and composite the 2 together in post.

    FUR:
Although some fair results can be achieved, I don't think, in general, the amount of time, to get that result, is justified.
And in the end, I find the result so-so .... so far at least.

Then I'd rather use scatter to place the hairs myself; the number varies from around 75 to 350, I believe, so that is doable in that sense.

But .. as always on the look-out for some handy tools/ products, above all, I'd rather use a 'pack' I can choose from.

I can see where you are coming from. I have found the fur modifier pretty frustrating myself. I can't say I have had one render where I have been 100% happy with the results and it can be a right faf to set up.

I have pretty much abandoned MR now in favour of IRay. It is reputed to be faster but I haven't noticed it as significantly so but it does a spectacular job with very little fiddling. Its also iteratative so you can quickly decide if to allow a render to cook or abandon it. And the IRay materials are jaw droppingly good - incredibly complex but really good.
