Little morph for G2M

In putting together a character using G2M, realized it was missing something. After converting the M5 pro part to G2M, decided to also make a bulge morph for use under clothing.
If anybody else wants one too, here it is: DA Link

Thanks. Can you tell me how you converted M5's bits? So far I haven't had any luck there, autofit mutilates it and just parenting as a prop gives me problems around the hip.
My Disclaimer: Presumably this isn't as good for G2M as the one made by the Pros for it.
Have "nothing" selected in the scene. Load the item. Be sure of your own save path ... I put mine under Anatomy under Genesis 2 Male under People under My Library.
Load the item. Have it "selected" and on the scene tab, change the name but do nothing with it in the scene. [no autofit, etc]
File > Save As > Support Asset > Figure/Prop Assests
Make sure the "filtered save" is going to land the item into the correct folder. I'd highly recommend "re-naming" it to whatever you'll recognize it as but that will never either overwrite or be overwritten by another file later on.
VERY IMPORTANT > For the Save Options ... keeping in mind that the Vendor Name and Product Name and Item Name are all "just folders", to prevent overwrite and not to ever accidentally share that which cannot be shared, what I do is put my handle as the vendor and the product name as "Private", and give it a name. Leave the other fields "as is", the content type and compatibility base are already "done". n.b. that these are for metadata and of course are not going to show up in Smart Content unless one makes metadata for it too.
Do "not" compress the file. [makes finding data to correct/delete a lot easier]
Accept.
Then remove the newly created item from the scene.
Load it back in from the Content Library. Now it can be textured from the mat files in the Genesis folder OR one can make shaders and/or remake the mat files to folders under "Mats" under "Anatomy" under "Genesis 2 Male" under "People" under My Library.
Apply the corresponding M5 texture to G2M, parent the item to the hip of G2M.
n.b. that said item has its own set of bones which has nothing to do with the main figure itself. [controls on the Parameters Tab all work]
Yes there are some issues about the hip area with either the mesh or the textures with some poses. My first thought was this needs to go into a paint program ... and possibly make a few morphs for the mesh.
Thanks, I'll give it a try and see what happens.
Okay, I carefully followed the directions but I'm not seeing any difference from just loading M5's regular equipment. Autofit still wants to convert it whenever there's a G2M figure around. Parenting it still gives me the hip issue as that part's wider than it should be for M6. Uh, I think that's how to describe it, would be better if I could just show you what I mean but of course that's out of the question here. :sigh: Still don't know what I'm doing wrong.
Autofit shouldn't be trying to happen. Have "nothing" in the scene selected when loading. It'll load to the default position for Genesis.
Re-position the part before parenting it to the hip.
I don't have M6 so if there's something specific happening with M6 that doesn't with G2M, I can't test that.
Do not apply "fit to", it doesn't. One would lose all the fancy bones and the resulting look is really not desirable.
You can send me a PM.
Autofit happens when I load the saved figure into any scene where there's a G2M. So naturally I hit cancel and avoid the "Fit To" altogether, just position & parent it. Then it works fairly well except for those mismatching seams around the hip, some of which can be hidden or postworked but not always. Applying character morphs are also tricky. Even though I re-position as necessary, many times his baubles end up getting squished. Ouch!
:headscratch: Sure would help if that thing could be scaled XYZ like nearly any other prop. Alas, there are no scaling dials or sliders, except for some :cough: interesting morphs I picked up over on ShareCG. ;-)
Maybe it's different editions of D/S [I'm running one back of current] but as long as I have "nothing" selected in the Scene, it just loads with no prompts to do anything.
Yeah, because this item is not "fit to", it is not going to follow body morphs. We can re-position, do post work and/or make a few morphs for it. Same as for any geo-grafted item AFAIK. And of course any drastic morphing would also affect the bones.
Check the Parameters Tab with different bone sections selected ... there were some morphs for some size and/or place adjustments.
Ghastly has an entire prop item over on sharecg.com too.
I have Ghastly's prop. It looks good and fits fairly well. Unfortunately I can't seem to find any textures that will work on it. Is it mapped for M5, M4, or something else entirely?
Okay ... morphing to hide/blend in the hip area is possible but does have some ramifications on another part. But that can be adjusted back via the dials on the Parameters Tab.
As to the testicles, yes you can x,y,z them ... just select said bone in the scene and the options are in their usual places on the Parameters Tab.
Ghastly "happiness" has a texture map so one can use a copy of that to make their own textures.
