DIM Failing to connect?

What causes this? DIM fails to connect to DAZ, and goes into offline mode. It happens to me consistently, and only with DIM. My internet connection is high speed cable and works fine. Right now I'm manually downloading everything since the Install manager is useless. >:(

    Same here. Sometimes it works without any problems and sometimes there is one connection loss after the other. Try it on another day or time.

    This is probably more a issue with the cloud frontend than DIM. If the cloud is having a error in your Server path to DAZ 3D your connection will suffer. I'm Hi Speed as well and Cloud has often stopped me until it was working properly again. When connected to the Site by a Browser the cloud errors show most of the time. DIM has no function to display that info, it will just drop.

    I have issues with my ISP which causes it. I lose connection for a fraction of a second and it disconnects me or won't connect. Only reason I found out is I contacted my ISP and they ran a test on the high speed cable line and saw it was up and down.

    Both of those make sense. I might not notice a loss of a fraction of a second, but DIM might.
    Jaderail...what exactly is cloud? What might cause it to have errors in server path? I do notice I was using chrome and connected to Daz. it seemed to behave itself after I shut down Daz and chrome (chrome IS a bit of a resource pig, especially if you have a bazillion tabs going).
    As it is, I did have to kill DIM and restart it several times, but it eventually settled down.

    Cloud is a server front end. It is used by the DAZ 3D site. If you ever get a Cloud Flair error you will know in a browser. It will show the Cloud front end and the error it encountered. Example I'm not connected to DAZ right now, I'm connected to the Cloud server sending me DAZ 3D at this time. What I'm doing is getting sent from the cloud to the DAZ site. They must stay in sync or errors happen. My server path to DAZ 3D will be different than yours depending on true location.

    Ah, ok. That's starting to make sense. I get error messages from the Daz site occasionally (recently) I'll pay more attention to those.
