This tutorial is for users of Project Dogwaffle and those who are considering getting PD Artist or PD Howler here at DAZ.

When we hear 'feature removal' we often think of eliminating blemishes from skin in a portrait photo. It can have other great uses though too. In this tutorial, we use a tool in Dogwaffle that we call the special fill tool: Feature Removal fill. You essentially select the area to be removed, and it does a bunch of magic to try and eliminate it. I think it's a combination of cloning and bluring, It works best when the area around it is somewhat consistent.

Here is a technique that can help remove small glitches on an image, such as removing a cursor from a screen capture. In this case, Verve was used to paint fluid displacements. When you release the mouse button, the circular white cursor shows, (as a int of the location and size of the brush). You may want to remove that detail, especially if the image is to be used as an elevation map, in ray tracing with Puppy Ray or 3D Designer for example, but even outside of Dogwaffle. This technique uses one of the Fill tools from menu Image-Fill-Feature Removal fill
