I believe I sent it to the app home directory (not the bin), so for me, C:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2021.
It writes to the \scripts folder there (maybe other places?). But that worked for me.
To wherever those applications are installed. You’re just telling DS where the .exes are.
Well I used the path that contained the exes. but the installer did not like that, and is still bringing up the same dialogue box.

Direct the installer to the root folder for your version of 3DS Max.
In my case, it was this: D:\Program Files\Autodesk\3ds Max 2021
You should not see that if you are using the latest version of Install Manager.
This is the latest version I have. Is this not the right version?
Apparently there's a version 1.4.0.58, which was just released: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/382131/daz-install-manager-dim-1-4-0-58-now-available-updated/p1
anyone have this script error during import in max 2020 ?
Does anyone have ANY IDEA how on earth you install this if your Max/Daz apps are offline?
There is a "manual download" button in the product page but it seems to do nothing?
I'd LOVE this to work.
Use the latest version (just released) of Install Manager.
is there anyone know what happen ?
You could download but not install with Install Manager on one machine, then trasnfer the instalaltion zip to the Install manager downloads folder on the off-line machine and install it.
Thanks for the reply! That's what I've been trying. I have DIM but that crashes as soon as I try to download anything. Daz Central has no option to download, only install. As I mentioned there IS a manual download button on the product page but that goes nowhere - been trying for 3 days now!!
What are the specs for the on-line system on which DIM is crashing, and what security software is it running?
Merged threads, since they are effectively the same albeit aiming at different destination applications. Please don't multi-post - it just leads to other people wasting their time providing information or asking questions in one thread that have already been coverd in the other.
Thanks again. I wasn't sure where to post, I'll keep all further posts here.
On the system that DIM I'm runing Windows 7 with Malwarebytes software.
Daz Studio runs ok on that system.
I'm wondering if it's the install path I'm using.
At the moment I'm using a mapped network drive to the offline PC, should I be using the local machine path I wonder?
Mapped paths work for content, I'm not sure about the application itself though - I would think they'd be more-or-less transparent.
Having another go at this - am I right in thinking Daz Central and Daz Install manager enable you to do the same thing?
(ie optionally download daz products)
I'm not sure which to use?
Install Manager has more options and facilities, it is a super-set of Central as I understand it.
ok, many thanks!
Lemme try that again.
There is one thing Daz central can do which Install Manager currently can't, and that is launch DS and have it run an interactive lesson.
