skimpify the mcjA3Maillot using this 4K opacity map
https://sites.google.com/site/mcasualsdazscripts4/maillottoswim
the free mcjA3Maillot figure is here https://sites.google.com/site/mcasualsdazscripts2/mcja3
i'm working on a script which will be called mcjTailorChalk
i create primitive planes and spheres
and the script marks the swimsuit texture images
along the lines where the planes and spheres meet the swimsuit
i can then use this to create very precise opacity maps
here's an opacity map i created during my tests
swim4.jpg
960 x 800 - 167K
swim3.jpg
960 x 800 - 178K
swim2.jpg
960 x 800 - 171K
swim1.jpg
960 x 800 - 153K
images.jpg
960 x 720 - 540K

and a short animation
Looking forward to this script. Will it work on other clothing items?
on any object or figure or prop -
but not on subdivided ( subD ) surfaces
---
i implemented the planes
and the un-rotated un-scaled spheres
i'll add cylinders ( as tubes )
and possibly other shapes
for example, a shape like this
as long as its not too hard for the script to find intersections between that shape and the dress facets
Thanks

Very much looking forward to this!
Please finish this one.
some progress in the mcjTaylorsChalk script
here you see i created a primitive sphere and re-scaled it
squashed spheres add programming difficulty,
rotated-squashed spheres will be allowed
That's in Daz Studio 4.6
i selected Amy's swimsuit ( mcjA3Maillot )
then added the sphere to the selection
i ran the script, it created an image,
i used paintshop to thicken the lines in that image and applied it to the swimsuit ... perfect !
----
to make it usable for everyone i still have some work to do
---
figure 4 and 5 was made with 4 spgeres and some paintshoping
the script that was used to create the opacity map discussed in this thread will be released here ---------> http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/44077/
