    Question:

In the "Chroft Apartment Open Plan Living Ps" file (which was recently updated from 489 bytes to 372 MB due to an omission) the file "/Runtime/Libraries/Character/ApartmentInterior/FULL Chroft Apartment.png" has no corresponding .CR2

    Is this intentional?

Should there be a FULL Chroft Apartment.cr2 ?

No, just delete it. It's something I forgot to delete myself. I wouldn't worry about it, it doesn't change the functionality of the set.

The new poser download for the Open Plan Living appears to be missing the wardrobe.obj file for the wardrobe.pp2 and the largerug.obj for the rug01.pp2 and rub02.pp2. Other than that, the set looks great.

    Thanks,
    Mike

Hmmmm I wasn't even aware that the installers had even been updated. I've emailed 3 people at DAZ to make sure this gets chased up. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Bought your Croft Appartment package t' other day, ... Checking in DIM to-night I saw an up-date for the Croft Appt Open plan Living ps" along with todays purchases.
I have tried (many times) to install this, but it gets to 80% mark, .. then fails!
I went to the trouble of 'un-installing the files from my installed files/DIM, in the hope that this would correct the problem .... to no avail!
Any suggestions?.. incidentally I bought the whole bundle 'cause it looks good in the promo! But I think I'll wait till the whole lot's installed 'afore I try it out.

I don't know what to tell you. Vendors have nothing to do with how the DIM operates. I've contacted DAZ to see what they say.

The zip file has a CRC error on the file FW_Ap_DoorsAndFrames.jpg. That might be symptom of the same problem.

    Yeah, you're probably right.
I tried downloading the files manually and un-zipping via stuffit. Managed to un-zipp most of the file, then stuffit reports "Stuffit Compression Message: Format Error!"

In the absence of some sort of action and/or answer from DAZ I'll give it another day or so before I return the faulty item and request a refund. :blank:

Red is my favourite colour besides black, steel gray, white an purples.... My car is red.

Carl (head of QA dude), has tested the DIM files his end and everything is working fine for him. So all of you shouldn't encounter any more issues.

    lol! SNAP....

I'm in the process of moving house.... This is a shot of the end of the office (two desks wasn't in at this point but they match the filing cabinets). There's silver Venetian blinds on the window, and black voile curtains.

When I moved in, this room was the little boys bedroom, decorated as Thomas the tank engine in red and baby blue...bleughhh

My baby sister bought me it. (the sign). It's true, most certainly..... I'm tempted to get a radiator cover, so I can have another display area for my bits and bobs. But there's no rush for that, those are things I can do once the house is nearer completion and i've moved in.

    Hi,

Does anyone have any good camera presets for these products that they're willing to share?

    Thanks,

    Martin

    Hi Martin,

I will try twist and bend Anna's arm to possibly make some camera presets for the set, but I am looking into the future sets like this with having removable/hidden walls to make getting good camera angles and compositions that much easier. If it is of any help though, when I was doing my own personal renders of the set within Cinema4D I using a camera with a focal length set to 25mm and the sensor size set to 36mm which gives you a nice wide angle field of view, without giving you that overly wide angle feel a 15mm focal length would give you. I positioned a number of my cameras within the corners of the rooms, or down low. It's very much trial and error, but I would say set your camera up with a 25mm Focal length (I am unsure of other settings in DS) and take it from there.

Check out this topic too. http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/43432/ I added some useful info about cameras for the sets here.

Thanks for the camera info, I'll try it out.

Being able to hide walls is a big help when setting up scenes.

This is a very nice apartment set. I could definitely see using it for a project involving a modern (or slightly futuristic) scene. EXCELLENT work, especially on the details like the rugs, picture frames, etc. It has that modern feeling like Tony Stark would live there, or it could even be on Caprica before the Cylons attacked.

    Many thanks for that :)

I do have quite a few more modern apartment/loft spaces and so forth in the pipeline. The contemporary look is always something I have loved and not really an area I have delved into too much, this being really the first piece in that style. But if you could see my inspiration folder right now, it is literally overflowing with ideas, if only I had Octopus arms, and a few rigs I could model them all :)

Either way, we are both pleased that you like you the set and feel inspired by it, after all, this is the reason why we create them.

10-20 minutes, depending on your PC specifications and the pixel size of the image. This is based on a pixel size of 910x700.
