In need of advice and tips

Greetings, I'm currently in the process of trying to construct a city street for a fire fight scene for a personnel project. While the modeling is going fine, the texturing phase is where i am having difficulty. The textures appear to be to blurry, i suspect due to the size of the objects themselves. In particular i am having difficulty texturing both a curb model and a basic skyscraper i created, in terms of length i need this curb to be approximately the size of a city block, and Skyscraper to be quite tall for obvious reasons.

Another issue is i am unable to use the Daz studio Tiling feature since it creates and obvious pattern when you zoom the camera out so from a distance the pattern becomes very noticeable. At present the only solution I've been able to come up with are individually textured segments and arranging individual pieces. This process as you might have guessed is a little time consuming so i was wondering if any other 3d artists might have any advice or tips on how to solve this problem, any and all help is appreciated. Please also bare in mind my texturing ability is rather rudimentary/ basic . Thank you in advance. :)

P.S. i'm aware there are products for sale such as stonemasons urban sprawl, however for this project i need to create my own models to use.

For the tiling issue, you need to use a seamless texture. You can find plenty of free ones on ShareCG.com.
