Hansmar - beautiful Desert Sunset
Spuddy: I like your variations...
Hansmar: Desert Sunset is nice too. I like the many details, well done.
spuddy : comparing all your renders, just a bit confusing, but you're right the "sunset 3" seems to be the right choice.
Hansmar : Beautiful scenery, great sky.
Thank you for your comment. You are right about the texture on the road, I reworked it, looks better to me ......
My second entry : Tropical Sunrise.
spuddy - great to see that you don't give up until you're satisfied.
Hansmar - great atmosphere in your Desert Sunset.
adbc - ah yes the road, I haven't noticed until I read Hansmar's comment. Definitely better now. I love the Tropical Sunrise, beautiful place.
Horo : thank you.
spuddy: Great, keep on improving. Wonderful perseverance. And thanks.
Mermaid010, Yellow Pen, Horo: My thanks.
Adbc: Thanks and you're very welcome. Glad to help a little. You're Tropical sunrise has a wonderful mood and is very well made.
In case you didn't see it in the last contest Poll thread https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/comment/6154436/#Comment_6154436
Hansmar : thank you very much.
Thanks Yellow Pen Horo Hansmar
Thanks adbc......Tropical sunrise..it is a lovely image.... quite and calming with some nice vegetation
three very different options not yet decided upon which but the title would be Time to roost
Very nice, spuddy, I like the first most.
spuddy : these are three very nice renders, difficult to say which one I like most.
Thanks Horo and adbc....I like the first one the best as well more depth and interest so thanks but then i like them all in different ways and for different reasons
my 3 entries are
1 catching the last rays
2 into the sunset 3
3 Time to roost
@ spuddy - your render are all wonderful.
@ adbc - Summer sunset and Tropical Sunrise are so beautiful.
@ Hansmar - Desert sunset is an awesome scene.
spuddy : very nice images.
Rieke77 : thank you.
spuddy - good choice.
Spuddy: good choice, yes.
adbc: beautiful entries both. Wonderful light.
Rieke77: thanks.
Spuddy: I like all your three options. I think I agree with your choice. The third one would have been more interesting if the windows would reflect the sky, I think.
My second entry: Lake sunrise. (although I did consider calling it 'reclining female')
This one is based on a photo I saw somewhere. It contains multiple terrains, because the 'rocks' in the lake and on the opposite shore are actually terrains with mounds, in different sizes, but the same texture as the terrain at the back. The clouds are a volumetric cloud slab. I did play with the colour of the clouds to get them the way I wanted. Also, I used a weak distant light to light up the shadows, because I did not like the effect of true ambience. I excluded the cloud slab from this distant light for render time reasons and because it would change the colour too much. There are a couple of trees, of which two are instanced a couple of times.
Hansmar - very nice and well done scene. By the way - nothing against a distant light, I also use them sometimes. An alternative would be an HDRI without a prominent light source, i.e. made from the Bryce sky. This gives often a better result than TA for outdoors. If you use an HDRI and volume clouds, don't forget to exclude the cloud slab from IB light. If you don't, the render will take an eternity and there's no visible difference whether the slab is included or excluded from IB light.
Adbc - both your entries are awesome, very nicely done.
Spuddy - all your entries are superb, good final choices.
Hanmar - very nice clouds for your Lake sunrise, I like the 'reclining female'
Yellow Pen, mermaid : thank you.
Hansmar : excellent view on the lake, great clouds !
Hansmar: WOW, beautiful entry... I like the reflection on the water.
Horo - thanks for the light tipp to Hansmar... I will try it too.
Horo: Thanks for the tip. I often use an HDRI from the sky. This time I preferred the distant light. And indeed it is good to exclude the volumetric slab from IB lighting, because (in another render) I experienced the extreme increase in render time.
Mermaid010, adbc, Yellow Pen: Thank you.
