I saw that bundle- particularly since it has the Memorial and that hair. Great choice!

@Novica - wow you've been busy with all those ladies! You were talking about a voucher for DAZ Originals earlier - is that the week 1 reward coupon? (Which I failed to qualify for having acquired only one punch in week 1) Because there's a bit of text on today's rolling ads saying "Use the DAZ Original Coupon you received today..." and I wondered whether I'd missed something that everyone was supposed to get, but maybe they were just assuming EVERYONE had earened a coupon?
@Luci45 - thanks, I really find Micah hair useful as it works on young, old, male, female... Have you tried aging up Joanie using Zev0/DraagonStorm's wrinkle displacement maps from http://www.daz3d.com/new-releases/skin-overlay-for-v5-and-m5-skin-sets ? I toyed with them a little and they gave a good effect especially on the hands (used sparingly) - if I have time I'll post a couple of samples.
I agree with you both that more older characters would be nice to have.

Hi Melanie- busy, yes. I'm seriously working on my first e-book and have to nail down the basic figure to work from for my main character. I just did side views for all of them, and glad I did because it is eliminating some of them. All can be tweaked but some require more time than others. So that's coming up.

Yes, we are referring to the Daz Original rewards from earning punches. :)

Here we go. I tried to get the side views similar, I made the nose protrude past the cheek and show both eyes.

Some of these look VERY different from the side! They won't be in the same order as the other ones, I am trying to put somewhat (and I do mean somewhat) similar ones next to each other. It's hard because their chin might be the same but the noses are way different, or vice versa. I started with ones that weren't similar to anything- the unique gals.

Some nice looking ladies! You can see why it's hard to group them. These could easily be mixed in with some of the others.

    With my voucher I got

    http://www.daz3d.com/kaylum-hair-for-genesis-2
    http://www.daz3d.com/char-hair-for-genesis-2-female-s

Really, just the two hairs because I was getting the DM product anyway, but it whacked a few dollars off it.

For anyone who hasn't used their coupon yet and is a PC member, it works on PC items. At least today it does. There wasn't any fine print saying otherwise. I managed to get 5 punches and a $10 coupon. I am waiting until the new PC stuff comes out tomorrow before I spend it.

Hey MelanieL, I haven't done much with Joannie. I'll probably try the aging morphs, sparingly, as you said about Skin Overlays. I bought the Skin Overlays once and was so disappointed I returned them. I don't know what I expected but I hated them. I guess the key is not to be too heavy-handed as they tend to exaggerate things. So do the aging morphs - not very subtle.

Has anyone used the new Dreamlight Render Sphere yet? I am reluctant to buy it because I hated the latest Lightdome Pro - it made a mess with the layers it created for Photoshop. I never could sort them out. He told me to just fix them manually, but that kind of defeats the purpose of having it.

I happen to know a certain someone has been experimenting with it this afternoon- not me- and perhaps she'll have pity on us and tell us what she thinks of it. :) I haven't tried it yet.

I thought some of the renders I've seen with the skin overlay/aging looked kinda plastic- don't know how to quite explain it. Wasn't on this thread btw. It just didn't look real because as you said, it needs to be sparingly.

Okay, I'll give my opinion. I have bought the new sphere. At first, I admit, I was frustrated. My renders were not very attractive. It has taken me several hours of messing with it, to figure out how it at least SOME of it works. (Hah. Futzing). There are a number of effects which are quite customizable, such as you can add a diffuse to the built in backdrop to change the color, change the density and location of the fog, get rid of or add dust, remove and change the angle of the rain.

Right o the bat, I had found that there were some lens flare effects that were making my render look weird. It was one of the Lens Rings which was enabled and gave a rainbow light pattern at the top of the image. There is also a camera light filter which makes a black grid on the render, but create some nice stripy effects, but will render on-screen if you don't adjust it when it gets in the way.

Once I figured that stuff out, I think I'm pleased with the special effects, like fog, and rain, and dust. IF you don't want to postwork those in, this will be useful.

I think I will certainly use it.

Here are a few renders using Render Sphere.

Ah, so you figured out what the black grid was! :)
The render looks good IMO, glad you figured out how to get out of the default purple. What I like about your render is the subtle effects, I know the promos have to show full blown effects but it's good to see the softer ones.

Thanks, SereneNight. Your render is definitely more subtle. I have been trying to not spend all of my money at the beginning of the sale, but this thing really looks useful.:cheese:

This is currently the free item:
    http://www.daz3d.com/free-3d-models-and-content/coffee-shop

    Anyone recognize the table/chairs?
I do remember that in Hacienda Hermosa there is a table/chair set with tiled surface. Not this one, but maybe could be used.

    EDIT:
    http://www.daz3d.com/hacienda-hermosa
HAH, am I good or what? I can't believe I remembered that table. Look at the 7th thumbnail. Chairs are too clunky though, not bistro looking.
Okay, your mission is to find some chairs to go with my table so we can make a coffee shop LOL! (or another tiled table/set.)

In case you didn't know it, Dreamlights Light N Go products include a 360 panoramic background. You might want to check and see if there are any that you like while they are 50% off (plus your discount.)

Also, this has a hi res tree, and if you've ever wanted a lot of trees on both sides of your image, take a peek at it. It's $3.98 (PC+) or $3.58 if you already have 5 punches.

It's not currently working BTW. Only giving you the punch discounts. EDIT: Be sure you use all capital letters, I think I had one that didn't get capitalized. You have to use the code MID-DAY-MADNESS.

If I am calculating right, if you are at the 10 punches, you end up paying 36%. Because if you (to make this simple) spend 100. and 50% is 50 dollars, then 20 percent off that is 42.5 (percent also) and 15% off that is 36.13. If you're close to a punch group, that extra 15% may make it worthwhile to get into that group. Aave's stuff is awesome! You'll get it for around $6.

Hey, note this one- it can be turned into a swimsuit.
    http://www.daz3d.com/cabaret-for-genesis-2-female-s

EDIT: Go for this perhaps instead- the bundle has the props and the poses. FeralFey isn't part of the sale but it is because it's in this bundle.

Well, DAZ sucked me in with the 3 punches instead of 2 on Monday, so I easily got to 5 punches, then with several lower cost/freebies I was up to 8, then with the added 15% off, I went for 10 so I could load up on Aave. I saved $18 overall. But now it's ramen noodles and cheap microwave meals for me and no fast fun runs for a couple weeks. I did just get a free sub sandwich from Firehouse Subs- if you are in the South, the Jacksonville Jaguars have a page on their site (and for phone app) where you buy a medium drink and chips, and get a free medium sub of your choice. (So spend about $2.30 and get $5.50 off) They said they would do that if the Jags got a 40 yard field goal or something like that. It expires today btw.

"This offer is only valid at participating Firehouse Subs locations in North and Central Florida, South Georgia and Charleston, South Carolina. "
Anyone in those areas can PM me and I'll send you the page to print out. This evening only!

I think I may have spent more then I should have last week, the sails were just to irresistible. lol. It should not take days to install stuff, and make sure it is there on Daz Studio, lol. A good portion of that was the need to flush some of my wishlist threw the shopping cart.

Thanks for the comparisons a page back, very healthful. Some of the figures I picked up months past are on/off for the shape with no shape sliders, most tho can be mixed. I don't remember whom it was it this point, I just remember wanting to mix the face with another figure, and not being able to. 3DS Jaylah? It was someone not in the Smart tab, many cups of coffee ago. In any case, Very nice comparison Novica.

Some day I would like to get into the mixing of features. That chin, that nose, etc. Tho I also just want to load figures and render cool scenes without much fussing around at all, lol.

If that's who you are referring to, I can't test her as I don't have her. Sorry!
One thing to try-go and open up the figure in Scene, and get down to Head, and then check to see what pops up in Parameters. I may be dreaming, but I THINK I've found some morphs there that didn't show up under Actor like they normally do. Or maybe I'm just thinking about expressions that don't show up.

Yep, I cant seam to think of anyone else at the moment. The thing is the head/body apply slider simply is not there for her.

Tho now that I think of it, that was exactly whom I had in mind, when someone mentioned that file converter pack. Turning the on/off DUF into a slider preset in the shaping tab.
    http://www.daz3d.com/dsf-toolbox

At least it sounded like that could do the trick. I just have not had the time or spare funds to go on unproven tangents yet with my own funds. I have to many other obligations to keep at the moment, and other people I've been neglecting the past few days.

On that note, I have not mentioned DestinysGarden yet, as the shaders have worked flawlessly, and I don't have anything in the I wish it had that list. I don't want to be a distraction from whatever daz-projects/real-world-jobs she may be occupied with. Referring to both of the DG Shader Essentials.

A few things to note if you're shopping the featured stores:

    http://www.daz3d.com/orestes-graphics/ruins-of-h-trakram
has nice stone tables and chairs. That one slipped by me. I don't like the gold but hopefully those are separate material zones.

also has a bed and dresser- all with those claws!

    http://www.daz3d.com/orestes-graphics/temple-of-arklops
goes well with that Decor De Claux set.

    http://www.daz3d.com/ignisserpentus/portals-of-power-serpentem-portae
Although it shows a rotunda pavilion you also get a square columned entry too. Check out the thumbnails

    http://www.daz3d.com/ignisserpentus/dreams-and-reality
30 backgrounds, and if you're a Poser user, it includes 30 lightsets for Poser

still cruising through. Any that you'd like to mention, feel free to do so.
