advance skeleton
plugin for maya.
If Daz3D bought a licence for this plugin and created a rig for their character topology with it, they would be able to distribute this with their maya bridge. Or somehow offer the characters in a format that has the rig set up. Or am I wrong about this?

A $3000 investment seems like it would be a pretty reasonable price to pay to make all of the characters in the entire library useful in Maya out of the box. I know I certainly would be more willing to buy their characters were this true. Maybe they don't see a possible return on investment?
I would be interested to hear thoughts about this. Maybe there just arn't very many people that use maya and daz studio, or its marketplace.

You can already use advanced skeleton with daz characters. It's under tools and namematcher. I'm not a fan of the rig you get though.
