Freak 5 not showing up in Poser 10 - help please

I have poser 10
I also have freak 5
I also have the dson importer (current version) installed
I also have all my runtimes somewhere other than my main poser install, so I have Freak 5 in it's own runtime. (the problem below happens even if I put Freak 5 into the poser 10 main runtime, however)

when I try to import Freak 5 to poser, the dson importer activates and loads something. The document widow changes and shows that Freak is there, and lists all its body parts.

But nothing shows in the document widow. Just the floor and background as if nothing loaded.

If I try to render, poser shows that it's loading textures just as if I could see the character, but when the render is finished, all that shows are the floor and background.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Do you have Genesis Starter Essentials installed in the same Runtime as Freak 5?

oops. nope. I don't. I'll install those and try again. If it doesn't work I'll let everyone know.
