not sure if this is the one being discussed

they do mention another in that thread but link is old and dead for me
Roygee, isn't Cycles also a GPU renderer? If so, then I have a feeling Cycles must also be very fast, and would be an ideal solution. Maybe one of the best possible if there is already a script you mention to export from DS to Blender.
My only problem is how much I loathe using Studio... :) But if there were a script/exporter from Carrara to Blender, then Cycles would be an excellent unbiased option. As I understand it, it's free too, as part of Blender, so the pricetag is certainly attractive.
Moss, I didn't recognize that particular thread, I guess I missed it when it was first mentioned, but it is referring back to the older forum post from Fenric I was talking about, and looks like the utility and instruction document Fenric made is still available on sharecg at the link there, that's what's needed to make the perfect fixes 'behave' in Carrara. (Everything works quite well, but there is a tiny bit of funkiness still on the thighs, nothing that the thigh fix that 3dc put in the freestuff page over at Rendo won't make right, but the rest seems to work pretty flawlessly)
Actually, G2F comes with the ability to autofit Genesis 1 clothing "out of the box", and with the addition of "Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female" (http://www.daz3d.com/victoria-4-for-genesis-2-female), you can use V4 clothing on G2F. For example, the image below is a G2F character with a Genesis 1 bikini (designed for Nata - http://www.daz3d.com/nata-for-genesis) - rendered in the Octane plugin for Carrara!. V4 cloths seem to work as well for me with G2F as they do with Genesis 1 (but you need to have Victoria 4 for Genesis 2 Female). I'm not at home right now, so I can't give you an example of V4 clothing on G2F :-S
But as you mentioned, Poke Away 2 is indispensable with G2F in Carrara!!!!

Hmmm, I didn't know that, my fault for not experimenting some more. I picked up both the M4 and V4 shapes for Genesis2, and tried autofitting some of M4's clothing to the M4 shape for Genesis2 and it didn't really work, so I think I extrapolated/misassumed that it meant the autofit for Genesis2 wasn't up to spec for anything other than it's own clothes. I'll have to try it again in some more experimentation :)

Actually Jon, it's my fault for not getting enough sleep!!! The image was Genesis1 not 2 :red:
I gave G2F and Genesis 1 clothing a quick test, and indeed, I found more problems than not, so your assessment was much better than mine with regard to using Genesis clothing with Genesis 2 :red:
V4 clothing with G2F seems to be about on par with Genesis (using Victoria 4 for Genesis 2). There does seem to be a bit more "puffing" of the clothing (for lack of a better term), but in general it seems to work about the same. Without Poke Away 2 though, it would be a nightmare!! Below is Karma for G2F dressed in a couple of V4 freebies.
