How do I create multiple texture "zones" of a model so that I can apply different materials in DAZ?

How do I take models that use one texture for the entire thing and divide out parts of it so that I can apply different materials to the various parts in Daz?

In Blender I think you'll want to select different parts of the mesh, such as the eyes, then assign a material to it. Each material can just be a simple color, nothing fancy, but each part will have a different material. I'm not sure how DAZ works but when you import the object, the eyes for example will have their own basic material and then you can assign a new material in DAZ (I'm assuming, I don't know DAZ very well).
As far as the mechanics of how to select and assign materials in Blender, it would be best to look up a tutorial on youtube. Typing it out would probably be way to confusing.
In edit mode, select the faces you want, go to the materials tab (the beachball looking thing), hit "New", and then assign. Name the material you just added. These will become surfaces in Daz Studio.
Krampus is right.
But when you export it from Blender, you must select to export materials.
Also when importing in Daz you have to read materials, but that is on as default.
