Yes, I know Daz made a freebie like this years ago but not everyone got it when it was available. Then I recently priced one on a website that makes me verify I know the difference between real and 3D and realized I could buy my own Genie for what it would cost for the model. This model was made by firing up Blender and saying to myself; "let's see. How do I make a Genie Bottle?"
So use this for non commercial, personal, fantasy, commercial (with credit) renders when you need a little twilight zone twist to it.
Do not use this for selling or repackaging.

Nice looking bottle! The purplish glass version in the back looks awesome... I can never make colored glass look like glass... cheap colored plastic, yes... but glass, no. Is that a Reality render?

The metals in the ultimate shader pack is what I always use when I render in 3Delight from Studio. If you use Studio and you don't have that set installed stop what you're doing and click that link now.
I was using Georgehaze's shaders when they were still single packs. LOL
As for DS Glass - if you have time for the render, I can recomend tofusan's Realistic Glass Shader with Absorption.
It is not only a shader preset, it is a REALLY new shader with new surface settings ...

mCasual made a "lathe" script you could make something similar out of, but this has more detail on the surface. Great looking model. All you need now is a Djinn, or an Air Giant to pop out of it. Like the Genie in Aladdin said,
"Ten thousand years (in a lamp) will give you such a crick in the neck"
Does it have a circular sofa inside like on TV? :)
Alas, I believe the original Daz freebie genie bottle DID come with an interior set, but that's long gone.

I may look into doing cushiony swinging 60's type interior for this model, at this time, I don't remember a TV in there but I think Barbra Eden had a blacklight Hendrix poster on the wall or maybe that was my old bedroom,.
Here are the bottles in Glass with some transmission color changes I did to the glass surface in Reality out to LuxRender but I think it's possible to get some mind-blowing glass enhancements in Studio out of 3Delight with add ons by Age of Armour, that PA has opened a lot of functionality for the internal rendering engine in Studio.

I have the old genie bottle. If StratDragon is up for doing an interior, I'll load up the old one and post a render here, if that's OK, just as an example. I've got just the right character, too. Given how old the genie bottle model is, I'll put V3 Shadiyah in the Harem Dancer outfit inside the bottle. I just have to make sure the outfit is sufficiently opaque for this venue... :lol:

I'm going to have to play with the folds abilities in Blender, there is a pin function but I've never used it or know where to use it. I'm off to youtube to see what I can find.
The interior appears to be brought together with Middle Eastern textiles (sharecgtextures maybe?) so glitter unicorns and draperies that memorialize NASCAR legends would probably lessen the overall feel.
Anyone know where to find a passible genie costume for V4?

The bottle interior was an old DAZ freebie from the weekly freebie archive. I grabbed everything I could before they shut it down. It's a single prop with only default textures. Oops, looks like I missed the framing of the shot a little. The prop is half a bottle. I missed getting the bottom corner in the scene. That Harem Dancer outfit for V3 was a little disappointing. It has 0 morphs. I can't use the Shadiyah body with it. That's the default V3 body with a few minimal dial changes. I've transferred that skin to V4, so I might try some of the V4 outfits. Thanks for the links, folks.
As for the modeling, you could just make a circular sofa without the folds. Throw pillows should be easier than doing cloth folds. Similar ideas would be from the Fantasy Camp sets.

Well, I think I've found a flaw in the new bottle. If you look closely at the inlay segments, there's a gap between the inlays and the main bottle body (between Glass and Glass2). I used one of the glass shaders posted here on the glass part, and I used a metal shader on the inlay. Then I scaled the bottle up to fit the old bottle's interior. I wanted to see the refracted distortion looking through the glass. It works, but then I noticed the gap. There's an undistorted portion. I think you might only see this with something inside the bottle. Scaled as a bottle in somebody's hand, you might not notice it. Scaled up, with a genie inside, you will see the gap. The gaps are not all the same.
it could the thickness of the model, the Glass2 was removed from the original model and reattached and it's flat so it could be having issues with the normals reflecting on the back surface.
I would have to show you on the model itself, it might be easier to fix later this week.
