Hi Sam! Thank you so much for yourself and everybody in Daz and listed above's incredibly hard work on all the bridges and tools being developed. It's such an exciting time to be a part of this with so many great options to make our projects happen exactly how we need them to.
Two days ago before these updates, I randomly found out on YouTube that the Maya Bridge had the ability to export animation back into Daz. So I went and got a free trial and it totally worked great. Maya Indie is under 300 bucks, but is this option something that is being developed for the Blender bridge as well? If so, please let me know and I'll hold off buying Maya Indie as well as animating the shots for my feature film that I can't do in Daz until then as I do enjoy using Blender more than Maya.
If you're ever looking for beta testers for stuff that's happening animationwise with the bridge, just throwing it out there to shoot me a message as that's pretty much all I do and I would be more than happy to help in any way I can. Thanks!
Thanks Bennie! We are pretty small team here at Daz so happy to hear your kind words :)
Yeah it's pretty great right haha! That's exactly what we want all our bridges to do in the future. I am sorry I won't be able to promise anything in the near future as we will be jumping between bridges. That's where we hope the community can help us out. We will be updating the Github soon with all the new updates for Blender that @DAZ_vish has been hard at work at creating. The FBX Importer in Blender has a lot of problems so, it was tricky to get it to work properly. If anyone else has any ideas, I will be working to integrating the work other Daz Users create for the bridges in the meantime.
I will keep you in mind in the future Bennie Thanks for reaching out!
That's wonderful to hear! As long as I know it's coming at some point, I can be patient. I'll keep my eye out on the Github as well. Thanks a bunch!
Is support for 8.1 on the way?
We are working on it you can keep an eye on Github as well, for the earliest update.
8.1 has universal FACS meaning it can be used for facial mocap?
In theory yes, that's by definition what FACS is made for. If you were looking to use it as is though from the plugin there will be some issues that need to be dealt with first. For example, eyelashes are not attached to the face at the moment.
Thanks for the info for the subdivision! I am not sure on that front when we would be looking into it but, you can always post it here Daz to Blender Issues
Since the bridge is open-source another user can always try it out if they like.
Thank you for the update. I want to try it. In the last verion the eyelashes did not work correctly in G8.
My question ist how can I install or update to this new version. I could not find a descrption.
Hi Team, I would like to know if you have anything planned for the future regarding Daz character to blender, animate in Blender, then bring back to Daz to render ? same you have with Daz to Maya Bridge. Thanks
Unfortunately, the issues with eyelashes for G8 figures does persist in this latest update. We are aware of this and it is being tracked internally on our roadmap to be resolved as quickly as we can.
We do have plans to improve the character control rig in order to support animations to and from Daz Studio, although I do not have any sort of time-frame to expect this by at this time.
HI there,
it's great to know that there is a bridge now. I tried it and after the "transfer" blender showed the hands of my G8M figure totally messed up, with fingers about a meter long.
I used power pose to adjust the hands and fingers before I used the bridge and it seems that there is an issue with rigging.
Is there any way to make sure that the rigging works properly when using the bridge? I only need one pose and not an animation.
I don't actually need the rigging in blender, I just want to make sure that I can import an exactly posed figure into blender, including the materials from DAZ.
Is there maybe a tutorial on how to use the bridge? I guess to make this work a figure needs to be prepared in a certain way or just in a default posture?
Hi everyone!
I have a question about the Daz to Blender bridge.
The transfer itself works flawlessly, and the character looks great right off the bat. Great job, Daz Team! :)
However, while in Blender, I can't seem to edit the character in Edit Mode.
I can delete faces, and it works as expected. But whenever I try to, for example, extrude faces, the change dissappears as soon as I switch back to Object Mode.
I can sculpt the character without any problem, but not edit it in Edit Mode.
Why is this? Am I missing something?
I've tried the same thing with the Diffeomorphic addon, without this issue.
Nevermind, peepz!
Figured this one out on my own. Them shape keys.
Anyway, great job on this bridge, Daz Team. Works like a charm! Keep it up!
Right now there isn't a simple way of doing this in the bridge. But, it is a great idea for a tutorial. As the bridge team is small I will add to a list of many things we need to do. We will look into power pose though, and see why this is occurring thanks!
Thanks for considering to make a tutorial.
I have continued to try to get a pose from Daz to Blender but simply failed.
The Bridge does not really work for me at this point.
Skin textures are broken, cloths are overlapping and the pose is always just the default pose.
I also tried to use colada and obj and fbx and there is always something that goes really wrong.
I am wondering how other people get their figures from Daz into Blender or is it just not really a common thing?
DAZ and Blender on their own are really amazing and if there is a way to make them more compatible, that would be so aweome!
If I can support this project by testing particular things, please let me know.
I just wanted t drop in and thank the team for working on this and all of the various bridges.
It's cool how we're seeing the very beginnings of all of this - in eager form to watch it grow and evolve. It's never easy doing things like this for the masses because every single artists needs something a bit different from the next or the one before, so there's a lot of requests and fixes in a constant flood. Wading through that are the determined and the brave, and I thank you for it!
Thank you for your kind words! It's definitely just the beginning and I am excited myself when the ball gets rolling on this project.
same here! amazing script! importing into blender was so hard and had so many issues, now it takes seconds, and the shader setup looks amazing (well, the previous version did anyway, wink wink).
Looking forward to seeing this develop and grow!
Spent all day with the new update 2.31...Install from Daz Central..and Installs in Blender 2.9...But you can't activate it as Blender doesn't know it has been installed. No sign of a zip file anywhere...
Made up a new zip from the DBT folder Central installed in Blender 2.9 and was able to activate it...first try to import Daz Character ended in this error...
Hello Dear Team,
I find your bridge really excellent.
Thank you for the great work.
But maybe is it possible to get live tutorials?
I mean i found few of them on YT but these are only explain the button "DazToBlender" and not the rest of the possibilitys

Hello Bridge Team! I'm having trouble with clothing poke through, hair and prop placement once I import into Blender using Bridge.
I'm using the latest version of Daz, Daz to Blender Bridge and Blender. Everything looks great in Daz but when I import the model into Blender using Bridge, the clothing has some poke through, as well as the hair and some of the props are not in the correct position.
The props are not a big deal but I can't figure out how to fix the clothing poke throughs in Blender. In the case of 'dForce clothing, is there a way to "apply" the 'dForce in Daz before exporting so that the clothing is a solid mesh that will not change shape? I'm new to the 3D world so exuse my ignornace if I'm not framing the question correctly.
I'm having trouble finding discussions where others are having the same issue.

I found a solution:
In Blender sculpt mode I used the grab brush and smoothing brush to fix all of the clothing poke throughs. I haven't done a lot of sculpting but I found it fairly easy. I still wish I knew what caused the shape of the clothes to change in the transfer from DAZ to Blender, if the team has any insight.
Amazing job guys truly big big big Job. Thanks a lot.
Guys what about Exporting Animation Created in blender basing on char w Exported to Blender from Daz ? that will be Amazingly superb Option. Blender is powerfull with motion creating NLA, dope sheet, graph editor.... Please think abt this <3
Have a good time ! ;)
DAZ_sam I am having this exact same problem right now. Atempting to import a character that imported fine before. Now the hands and fingers are overscaled and warped. It looks like a result of the mesh and rig not being aligned. Frustrating because the same figure imported fine with the last version.
Today when I log into Daz I don't show send to Blender anymore. No Script shows at the top and no opption to send any other way.
I'm trying to use the Daz to Blender Bridge and have a few questions.
1. Videos suggested Genesis 3 and 8 characters can be exported as characters. What about Genesis 1 and 2? It exports something, but they are in an ENV folder.
2. I can't upgrade Blender past 2.79 because I don't have OpenGL 3.3 or better on my computer. I don't see the Daz to Blender tab in Blender as I've seen in videos. Is it somewhere, does it work with 2.79, and if not can I still import the files? If so how would I do that?
I'm an old timey Poser User with a HUGE investment in DAZ products. I'm on Linux Mint now and using Blender. Is there any way to use WINE to make my assets available? Or pehaps use a VM and send the assets to a sharded folder on the Linux Host system?
Hello,
I have been having a hard time converting Daz3D bones with rigify in blender. I am able to import from Daz to blender, select the bones and convert them to rigify bones, but then the face bones are messed up and the mesh gets all screwed up when you attempt to pose the model
There is an issue when importing a model that has clothing into blender. The Daz shader that is created puts skin SSS on all objects imported, not jsut the skin.
Thank you
Thank you for the kind words, as well as for the feedback! To confirm, we do have plans for a future update to support the export of animations from Daz Studio to Blender; however, I cannot guarantee any time estimate for this - unfortunately. We're also looking at updating how the IK-control rigging of figures is done for the purpose of animating Daz figures in Blender as well, in the latest beta release on our GitHiub (discussed further in this thread here):
https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/497176/daz-to-blender-beta-how-to-download-release-versions-manually-install-and-replace-old-installs#latest
I would recommend opening a ticket with the Help Center regarding this matter here:
https://helpdaz.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/requests/new
I do apologize for the inconvenience, but the Daz to Blender bridge is unfortunately only supported for Blender versions: 2.80 to 2.83. In order for this bridge to function as expected, you will need to be operating within at least Blender 2.80.
To confirm, this is a known issue that we are aware of and has been discussed above in this thread as well. As the FBX values of different Daz figures is not native or designed for Blender's Rigify, there are currently limits to the features that should be available from our bridge. Unfortunately, I am unable to offer any sort of time estimate for when an update for this or a video tutorial showcasing how to correct this might be made available; however, I will be sure to post about this in this forum thread as soon as I do have any additional information regarding this.
