Has anyone used the Reality for Poser?

Was wondering how much better the quality is and if it's quicker or slower then the usual render?

    Hi.
If "usual render" means Firefly then the quality is dramatically better, in terms of realism. Reality is designed to give you physic-based rendering, something that Firefly is not capable of.

You can judge by yourself by looking at some of the images in out Gallery at Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/preta3d/boards/

    Cheers.

Having used the LuxRenderer recently, http://www.luxrender.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=10341 - it's definitely not faster than Firefly. While you do have a ton of options, it's probably going to be necessary for you to read up on photography, particularly f-stop, film speeds, and various other aspects. I let a render cook for almost 5 hours, and it still wasn't finished, and that's with an i7-4770K and GeForce GTX760 (4GB) and 16GB system RAM, and nothing else going on. RAM was maxed out, as was the disk usage (reading/writing). Still had that annoying film grain on it, even at 98% completion.

A $3000 Workstation card might be better, but I have roughly 15000 more important things to spend $3K on than that.

If you're going for realism, Firefly can do it, but you need to know how to set the lights up, and you need great textures, and you need high-res figures. You also need a clear definition of "realistic".

LuxRender is designed for physical accuracy and realism, realism that Firefly cannot approach.

There is no glass simulation in Firefly that can come close to what LuxRender does. Same thing for Metal, and these are just two materials.
Same thing for light. Light in LuxRender is render at full spectrum, not RGB, and that allows you to adjust the light properties while rendering. In addition, LuxRender allows you to adjust the exposure of the image, while rendering, something that Firefly simply doesn't have.

In addition LuxRender does not block Poser while rendering so you can continue working on your scene or work on another scene while the render runs in the background. You can also stop and resume the render at any time.

At the latest Poser Expo the majority of the attendees had Reality for Poser and they commented on how much the like using Reality in their everyday use. There are many Reality users that don't render with anything else so using Reality and LuxRender in the everyday scenario is a perfectly feasible proposition. It's just a matter of becoming familiar with the workflow.

    Cheers.
