it almost makes me want to go and buy a chook so I can take a pic of it and be part of this thread.... hold on, I think there might be one downstairs in the freezer :) great day here Stezza :)
Well I saw on here that some of you asked anyone who started on this to post late even though they don't count so here I go. Gives the effort some closure I guess. There were a lot of real challenges in here, I touched some stuff I never used before such as the text generator and plant editor. I also did a bit more modeling than I thought I would do. Here are a few work images. I will post the final in a new reply.
In addition to the spaceship and ray gun, I modeled the "25 cent" medallion and ray gun blast. I applied a rust layer overlay to the standard tex on the half-buried helmet in the foreground. The only postwork that will be applied is a touch of smudge/blur on the foreground terrain (due to pronounced pixelation in the desert shader) and text items other than the "DAZling Stories."

Hello NetWorthy
Great result, by the looks of what you have done you have been using Carrara for a while now.
Always great to see the process other people use.
Also great to see other people's ideas.
While you might be a newbie in regards posts, feel free to offer advice when you can.
Carrara modelling is something that I am still learning.
Idea of the Carrara challenges is to help all of us learn what can be done in Carrara, as well as having some fun !!!!!!
Like you I will have to update my entry once I have my current job completed
(still about half way through, involves a number of scenes/renders).
Hi NetWorthy, thanks so much for posting your WIPs and finished render. It's way cool and looks like a classic pulp cover! I love, love, love the spaceship and the rust shader on the helmet is great. Also,Yay! for the Barsoom reference.

Hi Networthy,
that would have been a great entry! Thanks for sharing the process with us, even if you didn't have the time to finish it for the challenge. There's always next month. ;-)
