glow channel maybe on black bg
semi opaque grey M4, V4 mouth eye bits full alpha with conformed skeletons using the glow?
At least something close to it.
Maybe a good base to do it lots better with a more sophisticated shader setup.
Your turn :-) !
thank you! that is ultra convincing!!! but I don't understand, in your shader, the "color" red mix!???
well, 'til it works......
Its an older test I did, haven't checked the settings again. Sorry.
But: !
just substitute the red color with a value 1-100,
it still works. For subtle changes values work better anyway.
Go here and look at this article on edge falloff. http://carraracafe.com/articles/10-reasons-you-need-a-falloff-shader/
I think "Sparrowhawke" ( you will have to google it/him.) Has a free Edge Fall off shader on his website. It could add a bit of extra zing to the posts above.
Edit . There is a link to Sparrowharke at the end of the article.
Hi,
I think the best way for X ray is the plug Shader Ops from DIGITAL CARVER.

Very simple to use

Thanks for the great information in this thread.
This an experiment using Sparrowhawk3D's edge falloff shader [ http://www.sparrowhawke3d.com/Sparrowhawke3DLaboratory.html ] in Carrara 8.5 Pro to create an X-ray effect. I used a M4 skeleton and DAZ anatomy attached to a Genesis figure.
