Temp file no found

Because my temporary folders keep cleaning all the time, it makes me lose files, and my characters lose their skin, how can I prevent this from happening?

It sounds like you may have utilised a Layered Image in some way (to get tattoos, scars, freckles, etc.,) and Daz Studio creates thos file in the temporary folder which is cleared down when you shut the program.  You can manually save or move the files to another lcation and then point Daz Studio to them  or you could invest in a produc called LIE Baker, which does it all for you!

If you're using SkinBuilder to create your skin there's a button to save a material preset with a "non-temp" version of the skin and apply it to your character.

  • Couldn't I just configure DAZ not to delete certain temporary files?

No. They're temp files, they're not meant to stay, and there's no way to tell DS not to delete them.

  • You could copy the temp files from the folder to another location, then use th Surfaces pane to switch the maps to those (but of course then they wouldn't be layered images. One or two of the utlities that use layered imaegs do have the ability to do all that for you, as I recall.
