Attachment Mates in DS?!? Whatever next?
That will prove useful. Really useful. Makes it possible to model parts without needing to do the assembly in the modelling package.
Coincident mates for selected surfaces rather than bodies could be useful too, but not even sure what you'd have to do to select flat faces in DS.
Thank you.
Regards,
Richard.
Added to the index, thank you (in the Creation post) but I'm not sure my description is right.
Might I suggest also cen[Axis]min/max[Axis] options? In fact, it might clean up both code and UI to reference both pieces by dropdowns:
Align Part A [Min/Center/Max] [X/Y/Z] with Part B [Min/Center/Max] [X/Y/Z] allows for 81 permutations, using only four buttons, rather than 15 permutations with a separate button for each, as above.
Major Update
Version 2 lets you resize and reposition an object with precision
and when 2 objects are selected you can now specify the distance between the 2 objects min/cen/max
instead of a distance of zero ( which was the case in version 1 )
Nice. Thank you
That looks like a really useful update. Thank you.
Regards,
Richard
another update: V3
now you can do measurements and moves base on the source and target object's Origin, Minimum, Center, Maximum
