Sorry, haven't been online and not getting notices. But wanted to post this- if you hurry, you can see the otter feeding at the Monterey Zoo- doing it now! They have the oldest sea otter in the world, has had 15 pups, and is 23 going on 24 years old. Rosa is on the far right, has the most blonde on her head and chest. Edit- it's over now, but there will be another one at 3:30pm California time. They will be putting eyedrops in Rosa's eyes to help her vision.

We did fine during all that rain, my house is on the correct side of the street- all ours gently slope down from one home to another, and the other side of the street is fairly flat. If we ever do get deluges, we don't even puddle.

The only shopping I've done lately is to grab that little dragon at 60% off. I made a firm committment not to spend much more money here as I have so much stuff that I've never used. But I'm going to start rendering gals just for fun in the upcoming weeks I think. Nothing fancy like scenes. I do have a question- how are you folks liking Genesis 9? I'm not using that generation and probably won't, but I recall reading about bending issues?

Picked up Prison Call Booth the other day. Not too bad. It's sufficiently gloomy.

I don't like the phones much- the handset is part of the overall phone box assembly, so it'll take some deconstruction in Blender to make it a working prop.

Thanks for showing that. Certainly does look gloomy!

The cells in the background feel odd to me. Not having been in prison nor ever visited one (aside from Alcatraz), I've always assumed that guards simply escorted prisoners from their everyday cells to the call room and back, no intermediate prison cell needed.

(will upload pics as soon as Daz allows me to)

I have to say I'm surprised to see the wire clipping into the desk surface like that.

Reminds me of the Tesla one where the kitchen counters were floating on top of the cabinets, or going at an angle and one end was anchored but it started slanting upward and the end was completely off the cabinet. Other Tesla ones had pillows going through the couch, etc. At least we don't have to worry about QA with your products!

I got TMA Ariana for $6.58  (recent best was $8.81) as I used my two tokens and also the 4TH-SAVINGS  code. There are several things free in the varous groups, you guys probably already grabbed them, I haven't shopped in a couple weeks. Attic Bedroom 2 and Tropical Plants Volume 3- Rainforest Trees and Vines both snuck past me and are currently free.

So looking at buying a couple new Genesis 9 figures, although I'm still not jumping on board that train- I took advantage of that section which said if you buy one from the Cairo/London section, and one further down the page, you get an extra 20% off, then I applied my Daz+ 6.00 off for DOs, and got Cairo and London to 75% off and only 6.18 each. Their bundle is a waste of money to me, with only poses in it. Emberlynn Hair was the only thing I didn't "beat" in price for the lowest one, but I really like that hair and felt the price was good at 56% off. My treat to myself for the 4th of July.

So what goodies are you folks getting? And happy 4th!  I spent the afternoon with Mom (aged 95 and doing well!) playing cards. Great way to spend and remember the holiday. We laughed a lot today, played 5 rounds of cards and I won 4/5, she said, "You're not leaving until I win one!"  Love her sense of humor. There was a squirrel who had launched himself on top the birdfeeder on her patio, we named him Fred. He was still there when I left LOL keeping Mom entertained.

Not looking forward to the fireworks scaring the pets tonight- if you normally keep them outside please bring them in!

Doesn't Genesis 9 work the same as Genesis 8 so far as adjusting settings in Surfaces? No matter what I do with metallicity or changing the base color of the mouth, nothing changes with London. Anyone else worked with her?

There's no longer a "mouth/lips" surface on G9. That's one of the things that folks like to complain about.  To my knowlege, the only way to alter the lips is to use LIE and mask out the area and do edits that way. Or, (SPECULATION) buy a G9 make-up product, since those are all sold seperately now.

Well that explains it. I was trying the "mouth" and thought they'd just renamed it. This is really, really stupid. I'll stick to Genesis 8 for the most part. Thanks for the explanation!

This made my morning! To see you are okay and you and your mother enjoyed yesterday is just great Novica.

If you haven't bought it yet, may I recommend https://www.daz3d.com/line-zero-dforce-strand-hair-shaders to help your use with strand hairs and it will work on the animals with strand hair as well, as barbult has proven. It is made of curves and reduces the load on your system. And besides it is super easy to use, even I am able to not mess it up too bad. I am going through my hair library to ID what each hair is so and I am finding some surprising gems there I had forgotten and others I want to revisit when I am done.

The new cats are doing just great, but me, the fireworks kept waking me up as neighbors to the east set them off constantly overnight.

I picked up Cairo and London also, I think they look really good but a bit orange tinted.

I did do some slight adjustments with this one but didn't want to get to far from the base because I did it for the commercial thread.

Yes, I think the skin could use a slight hue change. Yours looks good!

@Chevybabe25 new hair Bodacious Bob Hair on London by Faber Inc and Elvina outfit by Arryn and Onnel.

I wanted to post a review which I haven't done in awhile.  This render took around 50 minutes set at 5000 max samples at 2500 px on the long side.

Bodicious Bob is a fun style.  It has many color options including tips and streaks; it also renders and sims fast with the default settings. I did not see a lot of movement from the simulation but it is not an extreme pose.  I like touch of color with the streak, this is the default color that it loads with. I did not tweak it at all.

London and her sibling Cairo are great characters and set to be siblings they are both well done characters my only complaint is the makeup and to me they are a little on the orange side but thats not a difficult fix for me.  While there are several options the eye and lip makeup are not seperate.  I know that the way the new shader is it makes it difficult.  Love the characters!

Elvina Outfit comes with the dress, shoes, bracelets and necklace. They come with several morph and color options.  To be honest I buy alot of there clothing because of shoes and jewelry.  My biggest complaint is that the jewelry come with no adjustment options; which isn't really much of a complaint for what is all included it is well worth the purchase.

Love it!!! That came out so nice :)

heartheartheart Thanks for pinging me. I love seeing what everyone creates!

Just a heads up too, I don't seem to be getting emails notifying me of site mails, forum posts, etc.  I'm going to do my best to check here daily, but it's easy for me to forget.

I have anxiously watched and listened to the news yesterday and today as it turned into a Cat 4 and now a Tropical Storm. Florida watch the water please. Georgia, South and North Carolina, watch the water also. You all so did not need a Super Moon on top of a water surge.

I hope everyone is safe from falling or wind blasted trees? And that your electricity will be on soon after it goes.

    Peace from Colorado,

Picked up the Red Carpet Formal Outfit for G8F and G8.1F today, will probably be sending it right back tomorrow.

It's a dForce dress, but its about as stable as old dynamite. Straight out of the box, the dress will simulation-explode even when the figure is in the Zero Position. There are eighteen settings(!) for various weight and collision combinations, but it's a guessing game even then. There's no guide for any of the provided settings and, even if there were, this feels like something that should have been solved during production and not with on-the-fly-oops-wrong-setting-kaboom adjustments by the user.

Picture uploads are still banjaxed, I see. Harumph.

    **Edit, many months later**
Since my review still seems to be the only Forum reference that pops up when you click on the bundle, let me add to it by saying that this is hands down one of the worst products in the store and you should avoid buying it. The only way to keep this dress from exploding at 1% is to delete the 'helpers' and run the simulation without them (just ignore the fin at the back) or tear the whole thing apart in the editor and weight-map it yourself.

The clutch purse is nice, at least.

This looks like a really nice hair, but too poofy up top for me, does increasing the gravity help flatten it out?

So I bought the new mermaid bundle ,https://www.daz3d.com/calypso-9-pro-bundle and while going through and testing stuff I discovered  that trying to pose the tail is really strange ,it stretches out and jumps all over when trying to manually pose the bones...... I can't figure out if it's just me or if the tail got through testing even though it's FUBAR ......... on the plus side with the DAZ+ coupon I got the Pro Bundle for just over 14.00 dollars .....

Hmmm, @carrie58, are you sure that tail was dead yet? Sounds like it was fighting for its life on the chopping block.

Sorry, I just had a visual of fish on a boat, being readied for the market and still moving.

What happens if you pose the elgs instead? If the iem is trying to follow the base figure then adjusting its pose diectly will produce weird results (I have bought the bundle, but downloads seem slow tonight).

Having downloaded I see the same - it looks as if all of the additional bones have lost their weights, so that the only influence is one of the fin bones. the tail is grouped for posing, and has the correct centre points, but snce only the very tip on the right side is affected the result is a limited area of mesh orbitting wide. Please report this, as I am going to.

Actually it does work, using the controllers under Actor>Movement withthe tail figrue selected, but trying to see what it will look like during posing is impossible as the interactive binding is not a match for the final binding, so it is necessary to guess a value and then see how it looks on releasing the mouse. The same applies to using the individual tail bones. So I would say not actually broken, but not at all easy to use either.

Grr, I knew there was a way to modify that but it took age to remember where.Go to Draw Settings and change the Manipulation Binding from Optimised to Full - you will then see the actual pose updating properly as you work.

Is that interactive binding something that can be configured in the Draw Settings?
