It's been a few years since I modelled a car (the one in my profile is my favourite attempt), and figured the racing car featured represented an interesting style. As ever, the challenge before one even begins with the modelling is finding enough reference images and in a sufficiently broad range of angles. This was challenging.
A less-useful reference and early render of the partial model is included. The front isn't quite right - but that might end up being "artistic interpretation". :)

Sweeet! But I thought they used V12 engines at the time?
I have no idea. I liked the image and the challenges of its shape.
Looking fwd to seeing more renders:)
I've got a basic tyre, partial wheel and a piece involved in steering; don't know what it's called so tough to find decent images; I have the general shape but comparing what I have and what the reference has means i'll be re-doing. It's not even close, but what I know about cars means its challenging for me to put oil in it. Computers, yeh, cars, nope.
Other cars I've done, I only had to worry about such items in a general kind of shape, as hardly visitble, but for this car type - easy to see and important; it makes it fun and challenging.
Fixed the steering component that is attached to the wheel; it looks much better now. I improved the wheels themselves, although they're not right yet. I've also added a couple of additional compnents for the steering section, both still need some work. I've not yet found any decent shots of the steering block (that is what it's called?) for that type of car - but will see what's available for others if needed.
I think I'll improve the tyres next, then work some more on the steering section.
Did you check this out?
Thank you for that, some useful info there.
I love those late 60's F1 cigars. Attached is the '66 model (Ferrari museum in Modena, it's even more gorgeous in the flesh).
I believe the chassis was mostly unchanged from the '65, except they hacked off the back cover to fit the much bigger V12.
