Render Viewport doesn’t render anymore

Hello all,

I have a problem with the Render Viewport. Up until recently when I switched from Activity Tabs like “Actors, Wardrobe & Props” to the “Render” Tab in the Render Viewport the scene was displayed there as a kind of pre-render.

But now it doesn’t do that anymore. The scene in the Render Viewport looks exactly similar to the one in the Actors etc. Viewport. It doesn’t pre-render anymore. How do I get the original behavior back?

Up at top-right of the Viewport there should be a bunch of controls, the elftmost of which is a sphere icon - click that and select (I guess) nVidia Iray to switch back to the "pre-render" draw style.
