Hoe do I create lighting/make lighting actually work in a render?

I'm a new user (literally just downloaded Daz Studio a few days ago) and I've been having trouble trying to get lighting to work for renders. Could I have some help?

    That is a set of youtube tutorials for DS beginners.  114 covers lighting, but I suggest to go over the entire course before you start.

    What issues are you having? If you have an older scene loaded, which includes a sky dome model or just a room, then it will block the default lighting (which comes from "outside" the scene).
