Daz model uv apocalypse
Hi
I just bought the Janna model from the market place. I'm new to Daz universe , i've choosen to buy a Daz model because it has a pretty good quality. The idea is to export the model from daz and integrate it to my own pipeline. Now i'am very surprised , the model has multiple Uv map superposed in a single one , it has also multiple material ( too much) for a game rendering. I need the body and head to have a single uv map as the skin materials should be the same , anyone has an idea to do that? i'm afraid that this model becomes unusable for me.
Thanks

Before you get too excited you'll need an Indie Game Developer license. Just thought I'd get that out of the way first. All projects which involve using the actual 3D model in anything outside of a 2-Dimensional render will need this license. Animations and stills are fine, because they're flat 2-D renders and there is no means of recovering the figures used in them.
Now that that's out of the way, Daz's texture Atlas can help collate textures on a figure into a single texture map. Decimator can also help to lower polygon counts as necessary. Both of which are extra plugins for Daz Studio with separate licenses to purchase.
First, remember that you can't use DAZ models in games without purchasing a gaming license. Of those, there is a DAZ license that covers only objects that have DAZ as the vendor. For ones made by one of the PAs, you'd have to see if they have a license for their works. You'd always need to read any EULAs carefully.
Second, http://www.daz3d.com/texture-atlas-for-daz-studio would possibly help. Again, under the proviso of the above first point.
Third, in Blender, it would depend on what you plan to do in that program. I normally export with Use Surface Names. There may be other ways, but for me, it brings in the different materials as separated meshes, each assigned to materials that correspond to the different maps. If you join the meshes and remove doubles, you would be left with a single mesh and you could access single maps through choosing the materials in the Material Properties.
Thank for your answers, it's very clear.Janna 14 $ + Indie developer licence is 500$ + texture atlas $6.95,etc etc. i don't really think i'm ready to pay one character for 520.95$ i just cannot afford that, i have to consider the cost of my figure as a donation, i think i will search another model for my project, anyway thanks for your answers.
If you have decided not to use the model you purchased (Janna), you can return it for a full refund, if you purchased it in the last 30 days. Look on the Help menu in the store. Select Contact Us and submit a help request to sales asking to return the product.
