Power Pixie help
I'm new to DAZ Studio and a bit overwhelmed and confused in general. I have DAZ Studio 4.7 64 bit. I do not have Poser. I wanted some cute creatures so I downloaded Power Pixie. I have two icons that I can load; one has a file extension of P4cr2 and the other is PPcr2. What is the difference? Also I don't seem to have the eye textures at all so it renders with a black hole. I have the poses and expressions and have looked in all the folders and don't see any textures for eyes. Can someone help me?
I have Monsters in my Cupboard and Dragon 3 on my wish list. Would they have been easier to start with?

P4 Stands for Poser 4 while PP stands for Poser Pro. It's an older product, so it's designed specifically for Poser. Shouldn't matter which one you use really, but PP is the 'newer' of the two.
In practical terms, this means that materials may not transfer properly when loading them in Daz Studio. This is because Poser and Daz use different rendering engines and thus have different types of material shaders to work with.
I can't speak specifically about Power Pixie, as I don't own it. But it may be worth posting a picture of your surfaces tab on the forum for us to take a look at. We can help further if we can see the problem first hand.
If you have the choice between P4 and PP for an old product it's best to use the PP version. P4 used a weird format for bump maps and they switched to regular jpg maps with PP, that's why you'll find both versions for very old products.
At the time Power Pixie was released I'm not sure DS even existed, so it's not set up for DS. It should work but the materials will need to be adjusted.
Dragon 3 and Monster in my cupboard will need less work to use in DS as they both come with DS settings.
Okay, I have a bunch of stuff showing up in 'products' but can't find any of it in the program to use. I'm guessing that I made a bad purchase. It's confusing to know what will work and what won't when you're just starting out. BTW, I did try to post a picture but it didn't show it when I previewed my post soooooo...... not doing very well tonight. LOL
Edit - I did finally find what was missing and am playing around now to see what works. Thank you for your help. It's appreciated.
Images won't show up on preview, but do show up once you post. If you want to add multiple images then you add the first, then preview the post which clears the attachment box and then add another one. This way you can add up to 5 images on the same post.
