Getting a scene straight

Hi,

I tried to find my own answer on the forum but could see any on what I am guessing is pretty basic, I am just a bit confused using the program.

When I set a scene, in my case just a front door with walls, I am tilted.  I didn't notice until I went to photoshop and added a picture frame and the picture looked crooked :)

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,

Terry

  • Sorry forget the above, I am not fully awake and now realised what I was doing wrong :) .....

  • Okay back and still confused ..

I can line up the top of the wall but then the door frame is skewed .. I line up the door and the top axis is skewed ..

Is the problem at the start when I am placing the first wall ?

X and Y are set to 0, so I am assuming that the wall is landing correctly and straight so I am still back to my original problem that the scene is tilted.

Again sorry if this is simple and I am just not getting it.

    Cheers,

    Terry

I can't really tell what is happening from the images, but isn't this just perspective? Try using the button at top-right of the Viewport (probably currently saying Persepctive View) to switch to the Front orthogonal view* - are things still titled?

    * not the same as the Front option on the view cube gizmo.

  • Thanks Richard, things are now not tilted smiley I was just in perspective view mode.

I set the front view as you said and then the camera and now everything lines up perfectly straight.

Very new to the program and anything 3D so thanks for taking the time to respond.

    Cheers, Terry
