It's time to vote in the RRRR Coming late Excuses contest.

Anyone can vote, not only those participating in the actual contest. You can vote for any entries except for you own entries, and we vote in two categories, Best and Funniest. Best is more of a traditional render contest voting where funniest more takes the humorous look at the image. Some images have a few lines of text explaining the story behind them, which often helps the voting, specially in the funniest category.  Each win (1st to 3rd place) will also give the winner at least one sticky Lucky Bastard pull, which means the next round will be a little harder, see below for how wins and Lucky Bastards are counted. We have changed the dropoff of Lucky Bastards so you will loose at half of Lucky Bastard earned the previous round, and set a maximum of seven LBs affecting your pull, if you have more, you will just pull seven a little longer.

Vote here: RRRRR Voting
Entries are here: RRRRR Coming late excuses entries thread

So, what are we voting about?

The winner in each category
- $20 DAZ GC
- 1 item from Totte's (Code 66)'s store (no DOs or Bundles)

2nd in the each category
- $10 DAZ GC
- 1 item from Dumor3D's store (no DOs or Bundles)

2nd in the Funniest category
- $7 DAZ GC

Third in each category
- $7.5 DAZ GC

The voting starts now, and ends Sunday June 13,  2021 - at 23:59:59 local DAZ Time

How votes are tallied and summed up:

Voting points: 1st = 5 points, 2nd = 4 points, 3rd = 3 Points, 4th = 2 Points and Tiebreaker = 1 Point.

If an image gets 1st, two 2nd, one 4th and two tiebreakers in a category, that is 5 + 2x4 + 2 + 2x1 = 17 Points

Every image points per category is summed up, and top three is calcutaled in each category. As we now have five prizes, a maximum of two entries from the same artist can end up top three in each category, this is to spead the joy a little more.

The image with most points from the same artist will be the base, the the average score for up to for other images will be added to that score, but if that image takes a top three placement, images who got to the cream of the crop with help from other entires, will gain extra LBs based on how many places it climbed, minus one. Here are two examples:

Example 1: The top image from X has 15 points. X also has five other images that has been voted for, 10, 8, 7, 7 & 5 points. Thaking the average of the first four images behind the top one is 10+8+7+7 = 8, so the first image which was at 4th place, now gets 23 points and rises to the top and becomes the winner. But, that image climbed 3 steps, so it will not only win, but give the winner 3 LB for the next run.

Example 2: The top image by Y has 11 points, and the second image 9 points. The top image will now have 20 points and go from 5th place to 3rd place, granting Y 2 LB for the next run.

If two images ends up with the same score, we use the same rules as in the European Song Contest, the number of higher scores wins over many lower scores, so if one image has 5+5+5+1 (16) and another has 2+2+4+4+2 (16) the first one will come before.

To avoid votespamming, anyone voting needs to post here in this thead that they did vote, and use the same name as they have posting here as the DAZ Forum name in the first question in the vote system at SurveyMonkey.

Remember to vote in both categories and place all five votes in both categories. Votes that fail to vote in both categories and votes faling to vote 2nd to 5th place will be discarded.

thanks totte for setting up the voting grid... truly a monumental task

ummmmm......   I haven t voted yet... but i have tried

i am not sure if i have messed up

i have not figured how to remove a vote when i clicked on wrong button other than screen refresh and start over

or if it expects me to vote between one and five on every entry like in a rating system since it keeps asking me to answer the question

if this is the case maybe we need a 6th button for not voting on this entry...... for all the entries that did not make top 5

or use the 5 button for this and only count one thru four as official votes

    sorry about that

Thanks Gopherus, I know that one is so much worse than SurveyMonkey, but thats what you get for saving $50.
If anyone find something better (and free), please shout for the next voting anyway.

I Check if I can tweak it, but thats rather strrict what you can do or not.

@Gopherus: OK, added an Ignore entry, sorry for bad voting engine. If I want to do it better of course they want a payed subscription.

Voted! For some reason I had to vote "Ignore" on all the pics in the first question, but not the second...? Hoping my vote went through OK....

(I'm not sure what you're doing on the backend to add all this up, but I've had pretty good luck with Google Forms.)

Voted! It was very hard, but I'm so happy we got three pages of entries, looks like RRRR is back on track!

I voted (I hope - I got a "thank you message" so I presume it went through). Like katfeete I had to "Ignore" all but my 5 faves in the first section but not the second.

I think that little rest between contests (well, quite a big one really)  made all the difference. I had RRRR-fatigue but felt ready for a return this time.

    Good luck to all!

I tried to vote but it didn't work. I didn't make any changes. I clicked "done" and then "Place your votes". I kept getting an error message.

I tried 3 more times. "Place your votes" first, then "Done". Then "done" after each section. It will not accept my votes for "best" I did 1-5 and ignored 6, one in each rank and didn't change any votes. Was I supposed to check one in the "ignore" column? sad

@luci  did you first vote tab 6 for all the entrants in the first category?  and then go back and vote for your 5 choices?

What? That is way too crazy. Click "ignore" on all the entrants in the column? Only in the "best" catagory?

Or do I ignore the ones I don't vote for?

you got it!   that s how i did it

only in the best category.... first vote ignore on everything then do your voting... which overrides the ignore

Okay, after screwing things up I came back here and read how to actually submit the survey...and I voted finally. That was a difficult task both in picking and in execution!

Voted! (I hope I've done it right.) It was really hard to pick my favourites. Lots of funny entries! Thanks for making me laugh!

I hope I will be able to take part next time (if there is a next time^^), it looks like all of you had a lot of fun creating your entries! They are so surreal and imaginative. They often look like images from some wacky dream. ;)  It's amazing how a little randomness can help create something unique and unexpected.

You are welcome, there will be a next one, and yes, it often looks like something out of a totally incoherent dream ;-)

I voted. It makes you long for good old Survey Monkey, doesn't it. But free is good. Thank you for the suggestion to vote all as ignore and go back and fill in the 5 selected winners.

Indeed - probably was a note about it in the 36 pages of legal mumbo jumbo you had to accept when signing up.....

The fun is in creating. Winning is secondary. I propose taking the prize donations from this round of RRRRR and investing them in a good survey engine license for future contests, instead of awarding them to us participants. Don't pay the ransom to these guys! Their survey format is painful to use. I never want to see it again.

Edit: Oh, I guess that would be hard. Donations are in Daz store credit. frown

I wouldn't mind putting my little donation into a survey engine.  I can also see whats available that I could add to my website as an option if other options are not viable.

Building a customized vote engine is something I've been thinking about, the issue right now is what Gopherus described as "votes are being held for a ransom".

I was about to do it many years ago when I foud SurveyMonkey and it did what I needed (which they now charge for).
