Genesis to Genesis 8
Is it possible to convert a genesis character to genesis 8? I use mostly genesis 8 characters and converted a poser character to genesis using the GenX tool. Now, I would like to convert my genesis character to Genesis 8. Does anyone know how I would go about doing so? I saw a video on yourube to convert V4 to Genesis 8 but it didn't really work the way I thought it would and can't transfer the textures, etc.

There are additional GenX modules that will let you convert it up to Genesis 3, and from there you can use XTransfer or Riversoft's Character Converter(s) to bring it up to G8. I can't make any promises about the results, though.

Ok so I tied the Gen X 2 with the genesis 2 and 3 addons, and have tried the X transfer and feel like I've wasted money. I can convert the character to Genesis and am able to apply skin mats, etc. However, if I try to export to genesis 3 with the genx tool, it will not allow me to apply skin mats, etc. Then, I attempted to use the x transfer tool and well yeah, it did something but I have no idea where the files went and it didn't convert my character to genesis 8. Guess I will try character converter.
You can't apply materials across generations (except Genesis 3 and 8) because the surfaces and UV maps are totally different. Cayman Studios offers products that apply geografts and modified UV maps to figures that allow you to apply materials from different generations. XTransfer files to go Actor/XTransfer for the full and body morphs, and Actor/Head for the head morphs.
