DAZ Install Manngager stopped working

Anytime I click on the icon it won't open up, but under processes in my task manager it seems like its in use. I later downloaded an updated version of DAZ3DIM and it asks if I will allow my computer to make changes. When I click on it, I say yes and nothing else happens. I run on Windows 7. What could the problem be?

Did you kill the process in Task Manager before trying to install the new version?

What security software do you use?

All I see when I try to run update is "Waiting for DAZ3DIM to exit" for like 30 minutes now. Didn't close in task manager. I got norton antivirus. I seem to have MCaffe security scan plus too, but I don't recall ever downloading or installing that.

What folder would I manually unzip my files from here since install manager has become useless?

I really think that you should get the DIM sorted out, it will make things a lot easier for you. I use Windows 7, and I have always used DIM with no problems, so it is not an OS problem, it may be your security software.

I got norton antivirus. I seem to have MCaffe security scan plus too, but I don’t recall ever downloading or installing that.

If you don't want MacAfee, uninstall it, there is no need for two AV programs running at once. Inside Norton, there is bound to be a way of listing 'trusted programs, and make sure that DIM is one of them. It may be necessary to stop Norton as well, until you get DIM installed. There is no need to be on the internet to install DIM, so there should not be any risk.

The ZIP files that you download from DAZ 3DD contain a folder called 'Content'. You need to empty that folder into your current DAZ Studio content folder. Do NOT copy and paste the Content folder itself, you need to empty the contents into the library folder.

If you don not already have a DAZ content library folder, DIM uses C:\Users\Public\Documents\My DAZ 3D Library but you can create a folder anywhere except in Program Files to hold your content, and the name is not important.

You need to then go to Edit > Preferences > Content Library > Content Directory Manager and list the paths for BOTH DAZ Studio Formats and Poser Formats in there.
