Problem installing Reality 4

MegarigMegarig Posts: 88

I just purchased Reality 4 (Windows 64 bit version) - and I'm having a problem with installation. I really wish everything would be available in the DIM... Anyway, I found the installer file, and when I try to run it, I get a message that says something to the effect that QtGui4.dll is missing from my computer, and that I should try to reinstall the program to fix the problem. That file is sitting right there in the zip file with the rest of it. So - where do I need to put this .dll file? Also, the install instructions talk about having to download LuxRender - right after they say that LR is included with Reality. So which is it? Is it in there already, or do I need to do a separate download?

Please help...

You need to download Luxrender from here http://www.luxrender.net/en_GB/index

Reality just allows you to use lux within your program of choice, be it DS or Poser.

Reality is really a great program, it makes DAZ images look real and not like plastic

I finally got Reality 4 to work in my DAZ Studio 4.7, it's really a wonderful program; however, the only setback is the rendering time it takes forever and ever and ever. And if you do not give your image enough light in Reality it will always look very grainy (with a lot of little white specks all over your work). Other than that Reality 4 is wonderful. One of the best for DAZ Studio Everyone should try it.
When you tell Reality 4 to Render your 3D image from DAZ , just go away and see a movie or go shopping and then come back to see the final results.

If anyone is thinking of buying Reality 4 for Studio or Poser. Then you should first look into buying a good video graphic card
Like NVIDIA GeFORCE GTX 980 4GB, trust me you will need the power. Without a good graphic card you're just wasting you time. Your computer will crash! and at times shut down due to your CPU trying to work overtime for rendering. A good graphics card will cost you about $400 but it's worth it in the long run.

The thing is, I was asking about an install issue, not so much about the program itself. But Softimage_Graphic_Artist brought up something I hadn't even thought of when I purchased Reality - the video card. The computer I have right now is good for Daz (even better than the one I used to have), but it doesn't have a video card. I've used expensive cards in the past, and they're great, I just need to get one for this comp - So until I get one, I wouldn't be able to use Reality even if I could install it. I've requested a refund for it in the meantime.
