Use of Expression Dials

Clearly there is something I am not understanding. Why do some expression dials seem to do nothing? With the "101 Expression Library With Dials For The Genesis 8 Female", the partial eye expressions seem to work but the full expression dials don't seem to do anything. I believe I've encountered a similar phenomenon with other expression packs, but at the moment I'm not near my computer so can only go off memory and the one I'm certain about is the 101. Is there more to some dials than just.. dialing it in, so to speak?

I don't buy expressions myself, but I do know if you right click the slider and open the properties menu, at the bottom you will see tabs for "Controllers" and "Sub-Components". The sub-component section lists the properties that slider controls.

(The controller section shows the opposite: all the properties that control that slider.)

Genesis 8 or Genesis 8.1?

Richard, it's Genesis 8, and although I've tried on 8 and 8.1 models but seem to have the same non-results. Thanks Margrave I'll look at that and hope I can understand what I'm looking at. I'm new to the world of 3d modeling and this has been a huge learning experience filled with much joy and frustration in equal measure.

What you describe fits perfectly on using G8 expressions on G8.1 if you haven't removed the dummy/placeholder expressions from G8.1 morph folders.

If the expressions do not work on G8, even though you get the dials for them... That is something new and difficult to understand what could cause it. Are you sure you haven't been using G8.1 base figure all along?
It doesn't matter if the character is G8 if it's loaded/dialed on a G8.1 base.
