A new competition has been launched over at CarraraTors for you to try your hand at a "Mini Movie"
Only 2 minutes of animation required and there is a prize for the winner as judged by the community.
You have got six months to complete your work and get your entry in by 30th June so plenty of time for you busy people. Meanwhile you can post and discuss work in progress in the forum.
More information is here - http://bond3d.wix.com/carrarators#!movie-competition/crrc
We would love to see you have a go even if you haven't done much animating - sometimes you just need the inspiration to get started and this competition could be it !
It will also be a test of your community spirit ;-)

Ooseven,
This looks like an interesting challenge, I will have to start thinking of my stoyeline.:-)
Perfect timing for me, I've been thinking I'm finally getting ready to tackle a 2 minute animation idea I have had for some time now.
:)
I'm working on my entry (and still adjusting to having more than two days as in the 48 Hour film contests). For some inspiration, here are the Oscar winning short animations available at YouTube:

Here is the 1998 winner, "Geri's Game", a favorite of mine from Pixar with some stunning character animation, especially the face (e.g. 3:02 - 3:14):

("Geri" in his glasses reminds me of "Uncle Junior" in "The Sopranos", e.g. at 2:49)
Speaking of Pixar, here is their version of Phil Wilkes teaching a new Carrara user:
