here's some of mine , scene shot, prepost work, detail , full scene
one image is the scene setup, each figure has wings but you cant see them because they are in a glass ball, and there are transparency issues. The final render looks much more cropped because of the refraction of the glass ball.
DADA_universe - I like the POV with the low, wide angle camera effect
diomede64 - are those replicated greebles on your ring in the final entry? (sorry if you mentioned this in the thread and I missed it - sometimes I skim :) ) - I like the effect. The toon effect on your second entry is cool too. I really love how all the characters came out.
Acudia3D- that blast wave effect is incredibly cool! Love it in the final render.
head wax - bees freak me out since a badly thrown Frisbee caused a hive to land right next to me as a kid, resulting in many. many stings. Your genetically engineered bee people are bringing it all back - I will be having art-inspired nightmares tonight ;)
I have posted the voting rules in the entry tread....
But voting starts at 23:59 MT February 15, 2015 (06:59 GMT February 16)
So you still have a couple of hours left.
Had to post it now, because I'm dead tired, and almost falling asleep at the keyboard after working all weekend.

Thanks for the kind words, Mark. Yes, I created a shading domain on the outside of the bands so I could restrict the replication of some greebles. Nothing fancy, just some primitives placed in some mechanical looking groups. I didn't include a WIP focusing on the station bands, so I'll attach a pic of the greebles.
@Acudia, that is a fantastic mushroom cloud effect. Also glad to see strategic use of the spline modeler.
@Stezza, another fun entry (well, as long as I'm not the one the croc is after). Glad you were able to get it submitted.
@Varsel, like where you went with that. At first I thought you might do a Dr. Frankenstein medical entry
@Headwax, excellent, as always. Love the choice of color.
@Dadauniverse, the sense of action is tremendous, really feel the power
Hope I didn't forget anyone. Sending out positive vibes to those of you racing against the deadline, and those of you who submitted a WIP or two but won't be able to find the time. Dudu, are your replicators still replicating themselves? ;-)
the complex lighting tutorial put lights with light effects in light fixtures.
using Apt 1337.
tried out a ring light. :)
found this show wireframe attached bone check box to turn off g2m's rig showing. only it's one body part at a time. settled with just unobscuring his head, but then had to go the instance list to select his head

Mark
See if we can scrape in an entry..
Here is a render of my background I will use and also of the drone models I quickly knocked up
not much happening in 2515 except them bloody crocs are still around!
All rendered images are then composited in PSE13 with added postwork using Ron's brushes and then some cropping.
Layers are flattened and using filters to give it a drawy feeling.. ;-)
