Daz Canvas (Animation) Exr HDR output to Blackmagic Fusion.

I rendered my scene as exr with the canvas and checked the tone mapping in Affinity, so far all good.

But now I want to tone map the images in Blackmagic Fusion. But I can't find any nodes that give me the desired result.

Why can I render in DAZ 3D only in HDR? Can anyone help me how to make the Daz outputs usable in Blackmagic Fusion?

DS only outputs HDR files if you're rendering canvases. Without those, you can save as PNG or JPG, and even rendering with canvases outputs PNG/JPG for the primary canvas.

Apart from that, I would imagine you can convert the HDRs to a more compatible format for use in Fusion using Affinity.

  • Ok i tweaked the color correctur node so many times until i realised that i had to use the lowest values for contrast and gain. I was tweaking the brightness the hole time. But yeh now it looks like my combined beauty pass.

Here my node value. Be aware im not using the gamma, i just use the gammut node later on. Also after my main color correcture i added a second to make it brighter. And so on, will add maybe some more color correctures. ;D but for the default (exposure) correction i use this.

  • I already have the preview images as png. They are good for orientation when composing.

The thing is, as an animation, I don't want to load and resave every single image in Affinity. That's what the EXR files are for. Now when I have EXR as output in Blender, the images are linear but I don't have to correctur to get the tonal values back in line. Blender uses Open Exr or Multy layered Exr. Now i just never worked with High Dynamic Images as output.
