Bit of a nub question.. Breaking object into pieces to use different surfaces shaders.

After getting a number of 404 errors while searching for the answer, I decided to just ask.

I'm attempting to build a basic studio apartment for my project. Using Hex, I used a cube to make the main area, and a second cube to make the bathroom area. I built it the way I wanted, uv mapped it, and sent it to Daz for the next step. Obviously I want the walls, floors and ceilings to have different surfacing, but am unsure how to do that as I'm a nub. I'll keep plugging away and maybe find the answer, but maybe someone will be kind and tell me in case I don't.

Thank you in advance.

You need to look up the manual for Hexagon, and find out how to create Shading Domains.

It is in Page 222 in the manual. You should find the manual in C:\Program Files (x86)\DAZ 3D\Hexagon2\docs assuming you installed to the default location.

If you need further help on this, I would suggest posting in the Hexagon forum

It can also be done inside DAZ Studio using the Geometry Editor Tool, but since you are creating the model in Hex, it would probably be better to do it there

You need to select the polygons and assign them to different surfaces (shading domains in Hexagon). You can do that in DAZ Studio with the Geometry Edit tool, selecting the polygons and then right-clicking, Geometry Assignment>Create Surface from Selected, or you can do it Hexagon.
