Odd shadow resolution on clothing

Wondered if anyone might know why I'm getting such abrupt stair-stepping shadows on the left-shoulder area of my character's T-shirt (see attached, lower right of image)?

The render is Iray and everything else seems to be working fine.

The picture, if you attached one, isn't showing but I expect this is the terminator effect. Thanks, Richard. You've identified the issue, despite this forum not being able to upload my image (I do wish Daz would fix this - how long has this been an issue around here?). Anyway, looks like I'll have to tweak the lighting, based on what you've linked me to. Appreciated.
