    Thank you mermaid and adbc.

Rembrandt: Great UE/Bryce experiments! Beautiful landscapes.
lemonish: Cool render and lighting. (Number 2 is my favorite.)
mermaid: Very cool. Interesting movement and mats, it feels sorta organic.
Horo: A pretty landscape and nice TreeLab results.

    Thank you hubert.

Mermaid,  very nice abstract. I like the second one best, because of the stronger contrast, but that is just me, of course.

Horo, very good looking nature scene. I guess you used lots of instances for the grass.

  • HoroHoro Posts: 10,643

Hansmar - thank you. No instanced grass, a ground terrain with a material, a bit above a copy of the terrain with a leaf/flower material with transparent patches and above yet another copy a bit above but with added base noise in the TE and transparency. Needs some time to render.

The object was made in Wings3D, a reflection and one instance with my own material. They are with the camera within a partly transparent and reflecting sphere, this one is within a bigger sphere with reflection and transparency controlled by a texture. Light and colour by an HDRI.

    Kinky Knot

    And here the anaglyph.

Horo : great wings modeling, wonderful render and anaglyph.

An unusual combination of objects : the cat is from Yanelis, tree, flowers and mushrooms : free objects, the sky hdri (fantastic skies).

Horo: Quite twisted stuff with cool mats and lighting.
adbc: A beautiful scene. Are these possibly magic mushrooms?  ;)

adbc - thank you. Excellent scene, thanks to the bubbles, it could almost go for the Under The Sea challenge.

    hubert - thank you.

    Thanks Adbc, Hubert, Hansmar

Horo - awesome render, cool model, the lighting is superb

Adbc -  wonderful work, I agree with Horo, it will make an outstanding entry for the current challenge.

hubert, Horo, mermaid : thank you for the kind comments. I thought about posting it for the challenge, I decided not to : a cat underwater is a bit weird.

  • HoroHoro Posts: 10,643

    Thank you mermaid.

Horo - the anaglyph is awesome, not sure how I missed it.

  • Thank you all for the comments.

    ---

Lemonish - Love those abstracts. Bryce on a Mac...phew. I tried that once and immediately got a slap on my wrist for having a too advanced operating system.

Hansmar - Learning Unreal engine is -indeed- something of a puzzle, but that is the fun of it! I just love those aha!-moments. Mind you, sometimes the frustration can get high enough to want to go outside for a walk and kick a few toddlers. smiley

Mermaid - Wow.. I can see those hanging on some -very classy- office wall.

Horo -  A very "fresh" look on that render.

    ---

I just wanted to let you all see what I am doing with UE5 and Bryce. At the moment I am 'collecting' Bryce hightmaps and rescaling them for use in UE5. Once I have done that I take a quick look how they work and then promptly loose myself in populating and filling the landscapes and generally learning a lot and having -a lot- of fun doing so.

This is one of the first batch of hightmaps. I fell in love with its simplicity and 'feel'. It is called "Mesa".

The second one, called 'coastline' was my first attempt at adding a bit of water.

'High Mountain' was an experiment with lighting trying to get a sort of autumn feeling.

'Mountain lake' has more depth to it and I fooled around a bit with trying to get a waterfal to work.

The flexibility of UE5 makes for an easyer realisation of more lifelike renders in Bryce and I like that.

I noticed I am a bit stuck on mountains so far so this was my first attempt to get a render without mountains. Yup, I know.. it didn't work.

The Erasmus made landfall to search for good wood to make repairs after having weathered a heavy storm. The carpenter was a happy man with what he found and the crew had fun shooting some of the many chickens that inhabited the atol. According to the surgeon, who knows about these things, another ship must have left a couple of those loose on the island.

As the great philosopher Bugs Bunny used to say: Well, that all folks.

Rembrandt - beautiful renders all of them, each has a charm of its own. Thanks for your comment

    mermaid - thanks again.

Rembrandt - thank you. Very nice renders, all five of them, fourth is my favorite. Yes, learning is the fun of doing all these renders. I stick to Bryce because I have yet so much to learn, it is surprising what options lay hidden (and unfortunately, a couple of bugs, too but finding out how to circumvent them is again a lot of fun).

     Rembrandt : five wonderful renders.

Horo, thanks for the explanation. Appears to be a complicated set-up. Your abstract looks very good.

adbc, Very lovely surreal render. I like how you use those elements.

Rembrandt, these are Unreal Engine renders, or Bryce? Anyway, they are marvelous. Numbers 2 and 4 are my favourites.

    Thank you Hansmar.

Another space render : "outer space night view".

These are the views I have in the game "Elite Dangerous"  (well except the water!)

Great render, and that moon is gonna be in a close orbit!

  • Thank you all for the comments.

Hansmar - These are half-hybrid renders. That is to say, the terrains are from Bryce, the renders themselves are from Unreal Engine. Then again...they aren't renders as such but just high-res screenshots. Imagine Bryce with a full high quality render setting but then in real-time while moving the camera with the water flowing, clouds drifting and foliage swaying in the wind. (Yes, I know...if only)

Paintbox - "Greetings commander!" from commander Rembrandt currently located on Lave station. smiley I can still remember playing the very first Elite with wireframes graphics. Wow, I am getting old.

    No render this time alas.

Hello, Bryce forum!! I normally just drop them on my twitter, but i just realized that I should totally share some of my bryce renders here.

Here's some of my recent faves:

CherryBlossoms. This is the first time i've successfully made flowering trees, and i'm very pleased with how they turned out.

WarpCity. This is concept art for a world based around 90s abandonware. :)

Researchport - another recent favorite of mine!

Welcome to the Bryce forum nvllcasting. Beautiful renders, each one has a different mood, I’m glad you decided to share them here, hope to see more of your work.

A re-render of my image from the previous page “Signal Hill” after Dave Savage found some grey plain patches. Thanks Dave for the comment and suggestion.

Welcome to the forum, nvllcasting! Three very different, but very nice renders. Please share more and don't forget to participate in the (more or less) bi-monthly contest!

Mermaid, I had not noticed the grey patches, but, anyway, the re-render is again very good.

I used one of the high resolution terrains of David Brinnen and Horo to modify some elements and make it my own render.

mermaid : your re-render is wonderful, like Hansmar I did not notice the grey patches.

Hansmar : very nice render, beautiful lighting and reflection.

Self-made terrain, used the vegetation set for the greenery.

nvllcasting - welcome to this Bryce forum. Three cool examples.

mermaid - yes I noted Dave's remark and though I also noticed them, I thought they were made on purpose. Anyway, this version now looks even better.

Hansmar - great result, very appealing scene.

adbc - well done stretch along the coast, very nice mood

Rembrandt: Wonderful majestic landscapes, very moody.

nvllcasting: Beautiful renders, apt for games. The cartoonish one is very cool!

mermaid010: A monumental scene! (I hadn't noticed said patches in your first version.)

Hansmar: Impressive! Just perfect for my next vacation! Great terrain+water work and camera angle.

adbc: A lovely scene. Great composition, terrain and foliage.

Thanks Hansmar, Adbc, Horo and Hubert for the comments, only after Dave mentioned it, I noticed grey patches, more on the right and a bit on the left. Suggestions, comments etc are very encouraging, that's what I  love about the members here.

Hansmar - Beautiful work, perfect materials and lighting.

Adbc - love the render, very nicely done, the atmosphere is awesome
