Hello all

I am able to load other scenes, but everything in my User Scene file is not responding.

Am about to try the zip file method opening as a zip file manually in the folder by Windows Explorer.
Otherwise any ideas ?

Was trying to open my old DragonBoat scene to do some more work, can-not access my spaceship scene from one of the previous challenges either.

Regards, Bunyip

    Update:-

Zip file method was no joy.

So I copied my .car file of the DragonBoat and placed it into a new folder in the Scene file.
I then loaded that file into Carrara via the RHS folder icon method.

After that I was able to reload the Dragonboat file into Carrara.
It took a while so it may be one of those background updates slowing the computer down.

Still having no joy loading via User-Scenes.
Will try again tomorrow and let everyone know whats happening.

Good news is that the Plan-B worked.

    Regards, Bunyip

Could it be some kind of OS permissions issue?

    Did it crash ?

Carrara can take a silly amount of time to load some scenes so if it just hang, you may not have waitied long enough ;o)

(Maybe the directory is checked by antivirus software ? this can cause nasty slowdowns, but usually not on reads)

    Hello EP and Mikael

I opened up the User-Scene file and let it run overnight while I slept.
It eventually opened but it took hours to do so.
Previously it might have been 5 to 10 minutes max to open a large file on my PC.
When I went to then close it, it then refused to close.

I did have a file crash during my first challenge that I participated in.

Will do a thorough spring clean and see if that sorts out the problem, if not I'll throw a support ticket in for it.

Was working fine when I did some error checking for a PITA problem for DADA in the challenge just gone.

    Regards, Bunyip

sounds like a pain, what happens if you try to import it into another scene?

    Hello Headwax

Have not tried to import it into another scene, but when I checked file-sizes one of the files had a size of 4 400 000 kb when all of the other similar files had a size one-tenth of that.

I suspect that file became corrupted some-how.

Good news is that the DragonBoat scene is now working fine and loads in about 20 to 30 seconds.
Glad I did not lose that one.

I'll still do a spring clean this weekend, was planing to do one before, more reason to now.

    Regards, Bunyip
