DAZ 4.7 Problems

I thought I was doing the right thing. Save as you go along so you can go back later on and correct OR re-invent. For years I purchased light sets from Dreamlight and truthfully- I was more than happy with the products.
Then a new buzz word comes on the block and it's called LEGACY. Artists like Jack Tomalin and others have provided "legacy" files for most of his earlier products and this is good thing. They still work well in DAZ 4.7.
What happened to backward compatibility? Lazy programming?????
None of the Dreamlight products that I have purchased over the years work in DAZ 4.7! Worse.. most of the scene files that I have been saving over the years will not release the Dreamlight light sets that I used if I reload them. Delete all lights works from the File Menu as it always did but it will not physically delete any of the Dreamlight light sets. You try to delete them manually.. BOOM BOOM out go the lights . DAZ crashes consistently everytime.
Programming is not new to me. I know what's happening here and I am not a happy camper. It is the responsibility of DAZ to ensure that they can supply some form of downward compatibility and as it stands it's not working. The same falls true with the individual content providers.
As far as I can tell I have thrown away a lot of money but far worse a lot of time.
I suppose I could always go back to version 3 Advanced..you know the one that seemed to work well ALL THE TIME! Maybe it's because I paid for it.
Solutions anybody???

    Does a crash reporter dialog come up when it crashes? Dreamlight's DS3 plugins were never updated to work in DS4, but I haven't had any problems loading scenes from DS3 that used them, or crashes if I needed to delete the lights.

    ======================

    This is the most common error. Always DzCore.dll and it will ALWAYS happen when you physically attempt to delete the Dreamlight light sets manually. You have to delete them in order to reload another light set to be used or you will be waiting for an eternity for the render to complete. This also happens with his so called DS 4.6 SLP upgrade. We won't go there!
    Now. when I happen to load a scene from 2014 which happened to use one of his light sets the same thing happens. BOOM .. down it goes. It would appear that the node based hierarchy is not allowing it to be released AND don't even try to load another light set . It ties itself together with the original handles and rendering will never complete..
