Figured it out - it conflicts with Golden Palace

  • Hi,

Also regarding HS dForce Hip and Breast V2 -- When I run a dForce simulation, the breasts get lumpy, and very lumpy when doing an animation. I have tried applying the various settings. I can't figure out how to get the breasts to respond properly to dForce simulation. Any help is appreciated.

    -Brent

  • Same here, the anatomy gets all lumpy. A tutorial would be great :D

Please don't forget the most important first step,(covent figures to dynamic surface): Select your figure, right click on simulation setting tab,dforce----Add dForce modifier :dynamic surface

    and step 2:Apply HS DFBV2 0Genesis 8.1 Female Material

I load dfroce breast and dfroce hip, then load Golden Palace ,they can work together

  • Hi Hamster,

Thanks for your reply. I have tried what you suggest and I still get the same result: very lumpy deformed breasts. Perhaps a tutorial is not a bad idea. Could you show us step-by-step how this works? I must be missing something.

There's a tutorial  name How to use.mp4 in product

I just checked, the tutorial  is an independent product call 'HS dForce Hip and Breast V2 for Genesis 3 8 and 8.1 Female Tutorial' you can download free

  • Thank you. I found the tutorial under the manual downloads from my order. That clarified things, and now I have it working properly.

  • I can not find this tutorial video anywhere. I checked in the files and my order page and don't see it anywhere. A video and pdf should be included explaining the tool works. Up them all in a folder named "How To Use" would be really nice as they would be viewable from within Daz.

Until then can someone link to the video and or explain how to use this product.

Checked the package files list on the DIM, there is no tutorial video file?

  • MouserMouser Posts: 675

Found it on the product library page, for some reason the DIM doesnt see it so you have to manualy download it.

I am sorry to say it but this product is a hot mess in it's current form. I followed the video exactly ( not a novice user ) and got the breasts to work but the arms of the character are also affected by dforce and flop to the ground like wet noodles. Yes, before you asked, I applied the materials after applying dforce. I assume the material has a weight map to prevent unintended areas from being affected by the animation but it seems to be including the arms. Please update the product.

Update: the issue appears when you follow the order suggested in the video: Apply Dforce to G8.1, Apply Material from the product, Apply the Attachment, Copy textures. This is wrong and will cause the above issue. You have to apply the material from the product AFTER you do everything else to avoid noodle arms.

Update 2: Last update, I retract my earlier call for an update. I wanted to be fair to the creator here so I left my comments intact so you can see where I screwed up. If you don't select the attachment and try to apply any of the solution settings (softness...etc) then you will see the above issue I had. It does say that in the tips section so that's on me. Seems to be working as designed now. Thanks for making this product.

Someone have a link to a tutorial or video? I am getting nothing useful out of this product at all.

Hi Keith, it doesn't conflict with Golden Palace. The white area on your model is caused by shells. To solve this, simply apply the shell fix that comes with many products (for example fender blender) and apply it to all shells you have active on the figure.

Something similiar happens to me but only for the hips. No matter how many times i followed the Breast tutorial, when wearing the hips the Genesis 8 melt after a few seconds of simulation as if i'm trying to simulate a Genesis 8 with only a dforce dynamic modifier.

What i did: Added G8 to scene>Selected G8>Added dforce Dynamic Surface>Added the HipV2>Select HipV2 under genesis 8>Select the "Tips copy material for Hips" stuff>Start Simulation.

Tried to select all the options for Hips and simulated configs in simulations folder, but almost no changes.

I wish i could use this product for the hips too.

    The breast works fine tho.

EDIT: Actually I was stupid. I would just like to congratulate the developer of this product. It works perfectly.

What was the solution? I'm having similar problems

So I finally bit the bullet and bought this in the hopes that I would be able to get some proper "laying down" soft-body-ish (I know it's not proper softbody physics, don't @ me) effects for my breast-equipped characters, and above and beyond the fact that the tutorial doesn't really cover much in the way of what each simulation setting does (leading to the "laying down" solution just resulting in the character's breasts becoming little more than deflated balloons), there is a big issue that I'm wondering if anyone else has run into:

A big ol' seam running down the sides of the character right at the rib cage. Just a solid, black, obvious seam line that is visible in renders and is absolutely not what I expect to be there.

I've tried it on custom characters, I've tried it on the GF8 and GF8.1 default characters. The seam is always there.

I'm wondering if it's just me having this issue, because honestly, I've checked the thread and unless I glossed over something, I'm not seeing anyone else reporting it.

Thoughts? Assistance? I'll take what you've got.

Secondly, simulating seems to have inconsistent, or at least unexpected results that I have not seen specifically called out. As mentioned above, the "deflated balloon" effect.

    Here's what I do:

1 - Apply Dforce Sim to character.

2 - Apply HS Mat (GF8.1) to character.

3 - Apply HSDFHB 8.1 to character. Copy Mats.

4 - Apply Default setting to HSDFHB.

At this point, if I pose and simulate using "Static Pose" option, the character's breasts stay right where they should and appear to have volume, some tissue resistance, and all that jazz. This is true regardless of the simulation option (4x4, etc) I apply.

The MOMENT I apply the "Laying Down" modifier and simulate, they pancake. Doesn't matter what sim option I apply (and I've tried them all), they simply deflate.

For now, I'm back to using pose controls (in/out and flatten, mostly, for the laying down effects), but until Daz gets us proper soft body physics (WHEN?), I'd like to see if I can't get this option to work, because so far it looks like the best option we have.

Hamster, have you considered making a PDF tutorial instead of a video? A step-by-step guide that is properly documented and enumerated would be of tremendous assistance.

  • I am new to dforce.
I applied the hamster add-on as shown in the tutorial video.
However, at the stage of starting the simulation, the behavior is not right.
In the tutorial video, the breasts are hanging smoothly.
However, in my DAZ, the breast stops just a little bit downwards.
How can I d to get the same behavior as in the tutorial?

As a follow-up to my previous comment - the seams issue has been verified by another user who very kindly tried to replicate my issue. We have both seen the seams only when we apply the "Lay Down" modifier, and they appear on every model we try - from generic to custom.

If we don't use the lay down modifier, there are no seams. But, the breasts affected by the graft simply don't model any kind of gravity effect without it. With it, they just appear to deflate completely.

I'm kind of stumped. Has Hamster replied to this or any other thread recently? Anyone got any thoughts?

For now I'm going back to the good ol' reliable squish and movement morphs, but something approaching soft body physics sure would be nice.

Hello everyone. I've had this product for a while but not had cause to try it until today.

Anyway. I add the G8.1 1Breast for G8.1F v2 to my G8.1, and the breasts go white. No need to send a picture, there's one above at the top of this thread. I've tried messing about with the materials, both the ones provided and copying the materials across from my G8.1, but not luck at all. I am not using any geoshells.

Are there any instructions? Please, please don't say it's all in the video. I can't watch it.

I wish this wasn't true, but this is worth bearing in mind for anyone that plans to document things even vaguely adult on YouTube. In Europe, YouTube requires age verification to watch any age resticted videos, and this one is age restricted. Verification means supplying Google with a credit card and agreeing to them using your credit score for whatever they want (honestly), or sending your driving licence or passport which they will manually check. I don't know anyone that's prepared to do that, and I'm certainly not, so the video is essentially inaccessible. Even VPNs won't bypass it any more. I'm sorry about that.

It would be great if some instructions could be installed with the product so that everyone will be able to get to them.

    Thanks :)

Oh sorrry, I see there is a video in the product. I missed that. Will check tomorrow. Hopefully the info on what YouTube have done to your video is useful anyway @Hamster. I can't imagine there is anything in it that justifies it being blocked, but this is, unfortunately, very common. Maybe worth an appeal?

Hello! I have an issue with golden palace and Dforce Hip working together. When I apply dforce hip to G8F and trying to add golden palace after (GP itself+shell+material match+shell fix) I have wierd effect which looks like hip mesh overlapping golden palace and golden palace looks like it is "disconnected from the body". Any thoughts?

I have the exact same issue. I load Golden Palace after HS Breast and Hip but the hip always appears to overlap Golden Palace. Does anyone know how to solve this?

@Hamster You mentioned above that they can work together. Can you share your method?

GeoGrafts cannot overlap, at least not unless they are specifically designed to. One would need to be assigned an AutoHide gorup for the other, and the edges would need to have matching vertices if they were to weld.
